We have spent a week during the ski season. Fantastic staff, always available to help you with anything in the hotel or make restaurant reservations, give you directions, etc. Rooms are not big, but comfortable enough. Wireless internet is not very good as well as in other places in San Martin. Good breakfast. Parking lot available if you are planning to rent a car. Not very quiet, specially with a lot of families in the hotel in the highest season.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group through Patagonia. Because of this, I can't comment on the cost but the accomodations were very good. The hotel is situated one block off the main street through San Martin. The lobby was nicely done and good to relax in or to use the complimentary internet at their lobby computer. The room was basic and somewhat small but not any more than any other place that we stayed in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a heated outdoor pool in the back along with a spa. The breakfast was basic, but once again, no different from any other place we stayed. Overall I thought this was a very good place to stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Le Chatelet is rated as 4 star hotel and is given good recommendations in guide books. It is also priced as a 4 star hotel - $117USD. It is not worth it. The hotel is well maintained and clean, but sadly outdated. The rooms and bathrooms are very small. The beds a bit saggy and it had the skimpiest breakfast buffet of any hotel I stayed at in Argentina. In addition, I was given a room at the back of the hotel which one would expect to be quieter than facing the street. There is a dog at the property behind the hotel that barks all night long. The hotel acknowledged that this is a problem and that they have not been able to get the neighbour to do anything about it. No apology though. I had to push to get them to move me to another room - facing the street, but the traffic noise was far preferable to the barking. There are many other hotels in San Martin that provide far better value. Not recommended.

I am from Chile and I visited San Martin de los Andes last weekend. We decided to stay at a 4 stars hotel, Le Chatelet, because these were our vacations during the summer. Although, the price (116 US) was one of the most expensive from San Martin, we thought lets go and enjoy. The city is very nice and the hotel was OK but for paying 60-70 dollars, as it was the price of the others 2 or 3 stars Hotels or Cabanas.
They said that was the standart that the council asked them to become a 4 stars, but it was a 2 start internationally. This happened to several guests in the hotel.
So for your next trip dont believe in the starts.
