The hostess at Cafayate recommended this hotel as it was the only tourist quality accommodation between Salta and Cafayate. The hotel is like a better motel in the U.S. or Australia but has a nice bathroom. Priced accordingly though (o maybe not). Air con units in the room are really too small for the room size and heat. Opening the doors was not an option due to the vicious biting insects.

O.K. to say but just bear in the mind the caveats.

This hotels is 90 minutes from Salta and sits on the edge of the Cabra Corral reservoir. All rooms have balconies and look onto the gardens and water.
Rooms are spacious with well equipped large bathrooms, rooms also contain a fridge and are air conditioned, however both have a tendency towards noisiness.
The gardens and pool are stunning, pool towels are provided and there is a pool bar service, however if you are the only person using the pool area you should let the staff know you want a bar service and they will then see to it that you are looked after.
There is also a bar, a restaurant (inside and outside dining), lounge area with PC for guest use and wi-fi in both public rooms and bedrooms (if you are in rooms furthest away from reception wi-fi is struggling).
This was our 3rd time at this hotel, we love the views, grounds, pool and the relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is ok but could get boring if staying for more than a few days. Housekeeping is of a very high standard and furnishings and drapery are all in good condition but the decor and colour schemes are verging on the ugly (though very comfy) or to be kind maybe you can call it traditional.
If we return to Salta area in the future and are looking for a place to rest up for a few days, then we shall return.

Came here after driving down from Cachi - 10,000 ft to sea level.
One of the most amazing drives of one's life.
But we were just ready for a break after three days of unmade mountain roads. Wonderful location right on the lake; peace and quiet.
Liked the hotel we stayed two nights instead of one.
Superb room for all of 390 pesos.
The first night we were the only ones staying so we were offered dinner on our balcony.
We spent most of the next afternooon watching as a film crew recorded various local folk groups by the pool under our room.
Two good and cheap lakeside restaurants within ten minutes drive.
