This hotel was okay. The overall look/feel was dated, and the room we stayed in was not quiet--the two major walls were glass doors so there really wasn't much insulation from noise, or between floors. I'd say not having a quiet place to come back to or ability to sleep in on our 2nd morning due to noise was our biggest issue.
On the good side the staff at the front was very nice and helpful and spoke good english, the location of the hotel was nice, a couple blocks from the main square (unless your priority is to be as close to the greatest concentration of bars/music shows, then there are much closer hotels), and the price was very, very affordable. Staff also surprised us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon and that was really unexpected and greatly appreciated.
Also worth noting was the hotel was mostly full of much older couples during our stay--not sure if that is all the time, or there was a large tour group, but did not see any other young people.
I thought the no credit card policy (cash only) was fine. There is a street full of banks of the main square and there are many ATMs and places to change cash. They even had a citibank and it was not hard for us to get cash to pay at check out, which we did the morning of our departure from an ATM. Exchanging US from one of these banks does take much longer.
For who I am and what I'm looking for I'd stay somewhere else next time, but I think this hotel probably has its place in the market as an affordable, not too many frills option appealing more so to maybe an older clientele or budget minded traveler.
