“Excellent hotel in a lovely town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We were very impressed when we entered in the house. It is very pretty, with nice furniture and small details that make it warm and original. The garden is lovely and very quiet (except the bird that sings before rain). We were in a room that opens on the garden, so it was really quiet and also very spacious and extremely clean. They changed the towels every day, which I think maybe was a bit unnecessary (thinking about the environment). The breakfast was very good, i loved the selection of jams, bread, and the medialunas. The coffee was extremely good too. When we had to leave early for an excursion, we got anyway almost the full breakfast (without the brunch bit, which was an omelette), and I thought it was plenty anyway. The people working there were very helpful and kind.
I really liked to stay there, it was very relaxing and i loved to go back in the evening to find the room as tidy and clean as the first day.

Room Tip: as others have said, try and ask for the rooms that open in the garden because they are very quiet...

“Awesome location, great town, perfect hostel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Brunch/ breakfast was awesome. Seved to you at the table. We had fresh yogurt and fruit one day and something different the next couple days. The kitchen was very modern and easy to use. Very clean. Full A/C hot showers in all the rooms.

Great location near all the main shops/ squares and a short walk to the gondola.

The room was spectacular. We had the loft - two stories. HUGE shower all very modern and clean. The cleaning staffs were amazing. Actually folder and put our stuff away for us.

Final Thoughts: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Room Tip: The street is a little noisy. Ask for one of the rooms in the back OR for a couple extra dollars the...

“Lovely B&B but overdone enthusiasm for the brunch”

Gorgeous house with lovely rooms and tranquil courtyard and garden. Unfortunately if you are going on tours most of this is wasted as you won't have time to sit and enjoy them, as you will be out every morning before breakfast. The location is good, easy walking distance into the town centre and the bonus is that it is fairly close to the bus station (midway between the town centre and the bus station). Comfortable bed, good quality bed linen and towels, and though we didnt use it there is air conditioning

The rooms are stylish, however there is little space to put your suitcases and it's' a battle to find places to put all the cushions and candles which adorn the room to make room for your own bits and pieces. As the rooms face the outer corridor you do have to endure the noise of people entering the pousada and walking past your room, especially if you leave your window open, so best pick a room further away from the front of the house.

I just have a gripe about this famous brunch. Don't get me wrong, the breakfast is very good but when they mention their special Andean brunch I expected something more extravagant rather than a glass of orange juice, coffee, a bowel of fruit salad sprinkled with cornflakes and milk, two pieces of toast and 2 croissants (basically what is provided by most other pousadas). One memorable offering on day 1 was a piece of toast soaked in syrup and an omelette on day 2 - hardly a special Andean brunch. This criticism aside I have to say everything else was excellent..... but the least I expect is to choose what I eat at breakfast and not be presented with a tray of food, only option being tea or coffee. Interestingly all the other guests at breakfast said exactly the same thing, we all expected something quite different from a brunch, especially one so highly rated. So cut out the "special Andean brunch" heading and your expectations will not be disappointed.

Just one other thing, we met a lovely Belgium couple who we kept bumping into throughout our trip. Unfortunately we were pick pocketed in Santiago and along with it went their email address, so should they be reading this, please contact us

Room Tip: Rooms at the back or upstairs are quieter

“Great location, beautiful interior decoration, top notch breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Met all expectations based on the great things which are written about this place - this is a beautifully decorated BnB, very clean and comfortable with friendly welcoming staff just a few blocks from the main square and a short walk to the cable car. The breakfast complete with medialunas, toast, fruit with yoghurt and a cheesy-egg-veg bake and really good coffee was the best we had in argentina by a mile. We stayed in two different rooms and both were really lovely with comfy seats, soft lighting and large walk in showers. Recommended for a relaxing stay.

“Perfection!”

Well situated and secure a mere three blocks from Plaza 9 de Julio. The perfect blend of a B&B and hostel for mature travelers. Capacious ensuite rooms. Wifi. AC. Open patio area off the shared kitchen and dining and common area. Tastefully decorated throughout in art of the NW Argentine region. The included breakfast/brunch is among the 10 best I have encountered throughout years of travel. Every person on staff is "muy amable," and the owner/managers are fluent in English. They will help to arrange any sort of tour and related information. As a convenience: a reservaton can be made through one of the more familiar hostel websites. .
