“Not the greatest, but it had a kitchen”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2010

Definitely NOT up to RI normal. The pull out bed had sheets that were thinner than tissue paper, the "blanket even doubled was not adequate for one person. We asked for another blanket and we got a RAG! Torn and had burn holes in it we could not believe it!

Woke up by noise in the parking lot, sirens on several nights and you can hear each and every word spoken in the hallway and the next room. Room itself could use some updating, no amenities like shampoo, lotion, no liquid dish soap not a drop. Okay, but think next time we will find something else to rent for a few weeks, not quite worth the money.

Breakfast selection was the best thing! A lot to choose from.

“Nice but noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2009

We checked into our room on a Wednesday afternoon. The hotel was nice and quiet. Parking was easy, and our room was clean. NO black feet from walking around the room without shoes on!!

THEN Friday came. HOLY cow parking got hard to find. THEN the biggest dissapointment of all I could NOT fall asleep Friday night. All I could hear was water running down the pipes in the wall next to my head!!! Finally I got up and turned the a/c fan to on and was able to fall asleep. Now it's Saturday morning and I hear thump thump thump above my room and I can hear doors shutting oh and don't forget the water down those pipes!!

So on one side it's a nice hotel for a family. The breakfasts have been very good, my kids loved the pool and I have been happy with how clean our room is. Yet downside is when it gets busy it's NOISY, very thin walls. So piece of advice if you have children ask for a first floor room so neighbor below you doesn't get mad and call and complain about your noise.

“Decent hotel...nice staff...good place to stay with our 2 dogs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2009

My boyfriend and I were in town for a wedding and brought our 2 large dogs along. I mainly chose this hotel because we were traveling with our dogs...its not the most fabulous place to stay, but was clean, comfortable, and overall a decent hotel. The pet policy at the time we stayed there was: dogs had to be under 100 lbs., 2 pets per room max., and $100 pet fee (for the entire stay, they do not charge a pet fee per night as some hotels do). They give you a magnet to place on your door alerting hotel staff that there are pets in the room. The kitchen is great to feed/water and clean up after the dogs eat and they do allow you to leave pets alone in the room when you are gone (which unless your dogs are very quiet/ trustworthy/well behaved ( luckily mine are!) it is not always a good idea...you never know what they could be up to while you are gone...) We had no choice though, as we had the wedding to go to, otherwise I prefer not to leave them alone. Just in case though, we brought a baby gate and kept the dogs in the bedroom, and turned on the TV in both the bedroom and living room so they had different background noise and would be less likely to bark at any guests walking up and down the hallway.
Besides that, there was free breakfast in the lobby every morning...basic but good, the parking was also very easy and free, and free (wired) internet access in the rooms.

“Excellent Stay!”

I stayed at the Residence Inn in Mesa for about 2 months in search of a new house. The hotel was so accommodating because of all the amenities they offer! And since I was staying there for so long these really came in handy! First of all, they offer a complementary breakfast every morning, and it's a full breakfast. This saved alot of money because I had my husband and two daughters, so we didn't have to go buy breakfast items every morning. Also, I like to work out a couple days a week and not only did they have a 24 hour fitness center, but they had free Ballys passes! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The front desk answered all of my questions about the area, and they also gave me coupons to some of the restaurants in the area. This hotel was great! I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who's going to the phoenix area!

“below par”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2009

While this Residence inn is clean and tidy, it's a substandard RI. Perhaps because it's corporate owned, rather then a Marriott-owned property. Little amenities are absent, as writing paper and pens, hand lotion, conditioner, dish washing liquids, etc.. The manager's reception on Tuesday was lettuce and dressing, soda, beer and wine only. No chips, pretzels or dips or other munchies.
The front desk wasn't always attended and a sign was posted "Desk clerk will be back soon. Helping other guests". This indicates the swichboard is unattended, too. The desk personel are young and attempting to be helpful yet don't seemed trained to Marriott standards. Internet connection was slow and spotty.
This property is not worth the $200- a night price tag, Next time we'll stay at a full-service Marriott or the Hilton accross the street.
