“Friendly welcome in lovely Town house.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We stayed last week for a couple of nights in this lovely old town house in Rosario.Victor, the new owner, is very enthusiastic to renovate and improve the property, showed us the work in progress on the 1st floor roof area, and made us feel welcome. Our double room (with balcony) was spacious, comfortable bed, plus air conditioning, which was great in the present spell of really hot weather! Extremely good value, and a convenient location to explore the town.

Room Tip: The first floor double with balcony was light, airy, and very good value for the money.

“Great place to stay”

Hi, My name is Karl, and we stayed a couple of days in this hostel. We were very wellcome, the staff was really nice and friendly.

By the time we were there the owners were doing a few arrangements in the house so a few services were missing but it didn´t make our stay less uncomfortable at all.

The mattresses and the breakfast are remarkable. I haven´t seen any hostel with this kind of mattresses.
The hostel is more like a home than a hostel itself.

Bad point, the street where the hostel is located it's very noisy and it bothers a little.

overview: Excellent

“Useless”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

The hostel is in a grand old house which is beautiful but has been furnished sparsely and unsympathetically.

It was especially poor for 'sleep quality'. It's situated on a narrow road which is incredibly busy with lots of traffic noise at all hours of the day and night. Double-glazed windows would make a huge difference. The doors to the rooms are mainly made of lovely stained glass which is very pretty but totally useless at keeping the room dark. They have not bothered to put curtains on the doors for this purpose. The bunk bed in the room wobbled so much you wouldn't want to sleep on the top bunk.

The shared bathroom was old fashioned (in a bad way) and was not kept as clean as it should be.

Breakfast was the meanest I have seen in four months of travelling south America: cornflakes, cheap dry buns with jam and some weak coffee. There was a sign up indicating you should wash up your own dishes after breakfast which you can understand in a big hostel, but not in a four-room place like this when there's someone sitting at the front desk playing on Facebook.

We also stayed at La Casa De Don Jaime 2 which was much cooler and more hostel-like (if you're into that sort of thing) and generally much more useful as a place to stay.

On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the mattress was good and it was cheap enough.

“Spacious and clean rooms with comfy bed - shame about the breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2010

Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay in a private room at Anamundana. Here is a summary of our thoughts.

Positives: comfy bed, clean room, free 24hr internet, great TV room and you can drink your own booze. Great location.

Negatives: breakfast is not as advertised on hostel world. It was terrible. The shared bathroom for the private rooms needs a good clean, plug full of hair and blocked. Very noisy road, so bring ear plugs. No bar/pub or welcome drink as advertised.

Also, not quite sure what the staff do aside from facebook, listening/playing music and having their friends around.

“The best in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2009

We stayed for 4 nights at Anamundana and it was definately the best choice. Located fairly close to the centre, right next to Pellegrini, the main avenue and Parque Independencia.
The room was excellent, service impeccable, the girls went out of their way to make us feel at home.
