Having made a booking well in advance and with e mailed confirmation we were astonished to be told on arrival that there were no rooms available. We showed the reception staff the e mail from the owner of the property and also showed them that our booking was marked in their own reservation book, clearly visible on the reception desk. Still no rooms available, When we asked how this could be the very young girl said "our manager is useless" and shrugged. Meanwhile an Argentinian family of six complete with very young children and grandma was getting the same story from the other "receptionist" and they had paid in advance. They departed muttering something about a lawyer.
We luckily managed to find somewhere not too far away which was fine. In fact we were glad to be there since, during the course of our argument I had seen into one of the rooms at HostelSweetHostel and overheard mutterings from some of the guests. Pretty nasty.
During the course of our stay we mentioned our experience to a couple of taxi drivers. The reactions were identical - a wry smile and confirmation that this happens all the time at HostelSweetHostel.
The place should be shut down.
