“Great location, great room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We had a wonderful 4 days at the Villaggio Hotel in late January 2012! The location was the best part of this spot - a block from the Independence Plaza as well as several great restaurants. Our room was lovely - with large windows and a very large bathroom. We had two minor complaints on our room - the first is that it required a key to use the air conditioning, which made the room quite warm. It was also a bit loud in the mornings. That said, the breakfast was delicious - fruit, pastries, cheese, and great coffee.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

“Nice hotel and location but rooms were noisy at night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The hotel staff was nice and spoke great english. They also gave good recommendations for place to eat. The computers are free as is the internet. The rooms were noisy as the walls are thin. Other than that I would recommend this hotel.

“Overpriced: fix the spa, elevator and a/c”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012
4
people found this review helpful

Our visit was not the best. The spa was closed due to a fire in the fall. The staff informed us that the elevator and air conditioning were affected and were not working properly. All of this should have been disclosed before arrival. The website now has a subtle reference to renovation at the spa, but charging full freight for a hotel that is lacking basic functions is unacceptable. The staff was pleasant but basically unhelpful which really does not work. The breakfast was average and the location is good. The noise level at night is unpleasant due to paper-thin walls.
I wish we had checked the reviews on trip advisor more closely since several other travelers have had similar experiences which are summarily dismissed by the gm's responses herein. Traveler beware!

The Management of the Villagio Hotel is constantly reading the reviews and answering each one where there is a concern, however, we do have to be very cautious as it has come to our attention that certain comments are not 100% genuine but rather fake or duplicated, with the only intention of damaging our hotel’s reputation. We have informed Trip Advisor about the suspicious nature of these comments, and the reviews are now under investigation, as we do not recognize you as a passenger who has stayed at the Villagio Hotel during the New Year’s Holiday.

We apologize if you have indeed stayed at our Hotel, and invite you to contact the Hotel directly to discuss your concerns.

At Villagio Hotel we always take the passenger’s feed-back into consideration to make constant improvements

We are not surprised to see a review from the same three passengers , keeping writing false review who stayed at our Hotel and were disappointed , BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T GET AWAY WITH WHAT THEY WANTED, which was to get two double bedrooms for the price of one, just because they decided they didn’t want to take the triple room that they had booked on-line.

We do recognize their imagination to come up with all these negative comments which are not true, as well as their ability to keep their written comments within the Trip Advisor’s guidelines and proper use of the English language, when they used a completely different and inappropriate language to treat and threaten our Hotel personnel during their stay.

“Excellent option for Mendoza!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Excellent location, close to restaurants, shopping and attractions. Great value for money in Mendoza!!!.
My husband and I stayed at the Villagio Hotel and had wonderful time. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful, among other things, the Wine tours they recommended and booked for us were excellent.
The rooms are nice and clean and they also have a great breakfast included!

We highly recommend it, and we agree with all the great reviews from other guests.

“Extremely Disappointing!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

people found this review helpful

The unhelpful and rude staff, along with the dirty, unkept nature of some of the rooms tend to be a common theme. When we arrived, the "suite" given to us was filthy! The tub was black and the shower curtain covered in mold and ripped. After being made feel like the hotel was doing us a HUGE favor, we were given a room in which the air conditioning barely worked and the walls so thin we could here everything that was going on in the room next to us. The spa was closed, even though in two confirmation emails, we were not alerted to this fact and as another traveller notes, construction continued while we were there, distributing the pool area. Not only did the staff treat us with distain, they also gave our room to new guests prior to the noon check out on the day we were leaving. A man entered the room while I was standing in the room just showered with only a towel on. The front staff only laughed. Given the country has a 22% unemployment rate, I believe better more guest friendly staff could be easily found. The ones presently there do not care much for customer or guest service and should be terminated.

The Villagio Hotel Management is not surprised to see a review from the third of the three passengers who stayed at our Hotel and were disappointed, BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T GET AWAY WITH WHAT THEY WANTED, which was to get two double bedrooms for the price of one, just because they decided they didn’t want to take the triple room that they had booked on-line.

We do recognize their imagination to come up with all these negative comments which are not true, as well as their ability to keep their written comments within the Trip Advisor’s guidelines and proper use of the English language, when they used a completely different and inappropriate language to treat and threaten our Hotel personnel during their stay.

Fortunately, the prospect passengers have the choice to ignore these three reviews and read the reviews which put the Villagio Hotel at a rate of 90% satisfaction, reflecting what really happens at our Hotel. We are not perfect for everybody, but we are not a filthy hotel with horribly rude staff, to the contrary, we have excellent customer service and we are constantly working to improve our facility and our service.

Not much more can be said that we have not already mentioned on our reply to the other reviews, except that we hope our future guests continue to show why the Villagio Hotel is an excellent choice for Mendoza: a great location, friendly service, and value for money
