We were in Mendoza to visit our daughter who was doing a study abroad program. The hotel was recommended to us by her "host mom". We were very happy with the hotel. It is across the street from Plaza Chile. Our room was on the second floor and faced the square. The suite had a king-size bed, sitting area, dining table and kitchenette. Because we stayed for 6 nights, it was really nice to have some room to spread out. The room was kept clean enough. Although, as another reviewer mentioned, it didn't look like they vacuumed every day, maybe every other. The water pressure in the shower was good, and we didn't have any problem having enough hot water. I find it odd that they did not provide wash clothes with the other towels in the bathroom. We also found that to be the case in the hotel we stayed at in Buenos Aires. Must be an Argentine thing. The mattress was comfortable. However, they had enormous, sausage-shaped pillows on the bed. They might look nice for a picture but they were terrible for sleeping. After the second night I asked at the desk for a smaller pillow. They were able to provide one, so sleeping was very easy for the remainder of the stay. They serve a complimentary breakfast in a very spacious dining room. Yes, it is the typical Argentine breakfast of toast, cheese, ham, medialunas and coffee. They also supplemented with fresh fruit, yogurt, a couple kinds of cereal and usually 2-3 other types of pastries. Having the fruit and yogurt was enough to make me and my husband satisified with the breakfast. Their coffee was excellent. The location of the hotel is great. The immediate area around the hotel I found to be pretty quiet, but you are only 3-4 blocks from a Carrefours (grocery store) and many restaurants. Plus it is only a few blocks from Plaza Independcia and a 10-15 min walk to the other plazas. Because we had our daughter to guide us, we didn't make much use of the desk staff, but they were very helpful on the few occasions that we needed some assistance. Overall I give this hotel an enthusiastic "thumbs up!".
