This was my second visit. The first was in 2000, when we were very well cared for. They
remembered us, and were pleased that we returned, this past winter. The new white decor was an infinite improvement over the 1970s earth tones, there previously.
The room has a balcony, which is a great spot to street watch, and the breakfast was
pleasant, with great coffee.
Lots of wonderful restaurants within a block, on Sarmiento, especially La Florencia.

They have very misleadingly given themselves 4stars in their hotel logo, but we were only in Mendoza for one night, which is why we took a chance on them even though Expedia rated them as only 1 star.

We got a very large room with 2 double bedrooms, however the room felt damp and very aged and smelt like dog!!

Walking into the hotel was like walking into a time warp. However the staff were friendly enough and the creepy, aged eating area provided food that was edible enough!!

Opposite the hotel was a hostel, and if I were backpacking I might choose to spend a night in a hotel as the price difference probably wasn't as much as usual. However, prices in Mendoza were shockingly low for dining out (£1.50 for chicken escalope, chips and a drink) so I'm sure the hostel cost little more than a few pennies!

Plaza Italia was booked so we stayed at the Hotel Internacional. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the location was excellent, but these are about the only positive things I can say. The rooms were rather small and the carpet was a bit worn. There was air conditioning but the front desk controls the thermostat ,so we found the room hot in the afternoons and cold in the mornings.

The parking garage was around the corner and you had to tell the front desk to open the gate every time you wanted to enter or leave. Twice, I ended up parking on the street; once because the garage was full and once because I didn't want the hassle of dealing with the front desk. The pool was also around the corner from the hotel behind the parking garage so you had to parade across the busy street in your swim wear to get there.

The connection from the toilet tank to the toilet sprung a leak so we told the front desk at breakfast. When we returned in the evening at about 6pm, the plumber finally arrived. By the time he finished and the bathroom was cleaned, it was 9pm.
