“Great hotel in Cordoba”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Windsor hotel is located in the heart of the historic district - one block away from Plaza San Martin, two from the Jesuit Block, three from the shopping mall and just across from San Francisco church and close to the main downtown cafes, bars and restaurants, as well. The daily rate, which includes breakfast, is of great value.
The hotel is very quiet, nicely decorated and fully, nicely maintained, from the lobby thru the rooms. Very, very comfortable it offers spacious and impeccably clean rooms and bathrooms. Toiletry items are generously replenished everyday. Beds, somewhat oversized, are absurdly comfortable and pillows can be chosen from a pillow menu. Free wi-fi hi-speed internet, safety box, air-conditioner, LCD TV, desk, chairs and a fully-stocked small fregi complement the room amenities.
The breakfast is amazing, providing a nice selection of cereals, fresh and preserved fruits, juices, tea, coffee, yogurt, a large assortment of bakery items, butter, jam, jelly, honey, cold cuts, cheese and more, served in a very functional and elegantly displayed buffet. Eggs, sausages and bacon are served for free, but upon request, only.
The lobby is comfortable and spacious and offers two computers with internet connection for free. A café-bar, with large windows to the street, is available throughout the day for coffee, food, snacks and drinks. A contiguous white table-cloth restaurant has an extensive, elaborate menu. Both café-bar and the restaurant offer a three-course lunch menu for very convenient price.
From 9AM thru 9PM one can delight at the great roof-top’s swimming pool, solarium, a well-equipped fitness center, sauna and a spa. Bar service available
The whole staff is young, very friendly and ready to help - the rooms with the configurations we requested weren’t available upon checking-in and they promptly arranged a solution. A better concierge-like service by the front desk staff would be welcome as, sometimes, suggestions of places to go are limited, though. Upon checking-in guests are offered a welcome drink and a booklet of discount coupons to be used at the neighboring shopping mall.

“Good Option and Nice Location”

I stayed with my wife and 2 years old child in the Windsor Hotel in Cordoba and liked a lot the location and the quality of the installations - the rooms are completely renovated and were roomy enough for us, our luggage and the crib for our daughter, what satisfied us a lot (beds were fantastic!). The breakfast offered was also very good. The common areas in general do not look so new as the rooms, but we did not consider this an issue. They have a small pool and sauna in the upper floor that we did not have the opportunity to use. There is a bar and a restaurant offering good dishes that we used to have dinner twice. The price is a little bit in the upper range, what might become an issue for budget travelers. Also related to the price, in two occasions I expected a bit more from the employees in general for a hotel entitled 4 stars: first time there we arrived at 3:00 am and, even though our reservation had a clear request for a crib, this was not ready and our daughter had to sleep the first night with us on the bed as it was said that nothing could be done for us at that moment. In a second stay there in the same trip (Cordoba was our initial and final destination in Argentina this case), due to our logistics there, we arrived a bit earlier than the official check-in time (11:30 am, while official check-in would be 02:00 pm) – in this moment, we were said that we could wait for a while as the room was being prepared for us at that moment. The problem is that this while took almost 2 hours (room was ready at 01:30 pm) – it might have been better to be said that the room would not be available earlier than official check-in time than to let us waiting there in this case. In any case, except for these two small issues, we were satisfied with the service in general.

“Wonderful time”

Stayed here for three nights after travelling from Mendoza, the staff were all really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The only negative is that the rooms are a bit dated, however the wonderful rooftop pool and terrace more than made up for the rooms, having said that the bed was comfy and the shower was powerful. Breakfast was excellent with lots to eat and various options to choose from. The location of the hotel is good and is near restaurants and bars. I would recommend the mandarin restaurant as we went twice! I would stay at this hotel again.

“Great Hotel and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

We, my wife and me, decided to stay at a decent hotel and to hell with the price at the end of our 3 week trip to Argentina. We stopped at reception without having a booking and they were booked out. However, with a bit of juggling around they were able to take us for the 3 nights but we would have to change rooms each night. That was no problem as they moved our luggage while we were out. The room on the first night and the 3rd night was at the front of the hotel and was a fabulous room with a view of the square opposite. The noise from the street was not too bad and the bed was one of the best I have slept on. However, the room on the 2nd night was in the middle of the hotel and looked out on an air-conditioning room and a blank wall. It had a separate room with a table and chairs that I imagine a businessman could interview people in. Beggars can't be choosers, The room itself was fine, it was just the location.
The staff were excellent and very professional and helpful. Someone on reception always spoke English and they always smiled. Very important. The restaurant was first class and the breakfast in the morning was more than adequate with plenty of sweet rolls, orange juice, toast, cereals, and coffee. After having stayed in every type of accommodation in Argentina from a €12 a-night hostel (Palenque, cheap and cheerful) to the Sheraton Hotel (a total ripoff), the Windsor was absolutely brilliant. I would recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are great, Just don't get a room in the middle.

“Do not only stay but do certainly eat here as well!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011 via mobile

The bell boys helped us dragging the luggage from the taxi in the middle of the very busy street. Room was ready on the 5th floor with a nice view of the square. The bed was excellent. Bath room as well and good size. Sound proof.
Breakfast was good with a nice buffet and a nice chill out space with swimming pool on the roof. Big gym. We had dinner in their restaurant and it was excellent. Nice and extensive wine list and food very good. Staff was very helpfull and attentive. One point of critism, the welcome drink......you get a voucher upon check in, ordered two red wine and get the smallest serving ever !!! so please either make it a real welcome drink or forget this service.
Overall I would strongly recommend this place we were sad to get up at 4 am to catch our flight and leave the comfortable bed.......
