We chose to stay in this hostel based on all the glowing reviews. We arrived at around 10am to find no one on recepetion and no members of staff - we later found out it had been a heavy night so they were all asleep! We had just done a 15 housr bus journey so arriving to find there was no one to help/check us in was a bit frustrating. We met friends there who we had suggested stay there based on pthe good reviews, they had had they famous BBQ the night before and said how rubbish it was and how the owner basically invited all his friends! That aside, we eventually checked in. The hostel is OK but nothing special. It has a nice homely feel to it but then on the other hand there are friends of teh staff wondering in and out all the time so you never really know what is going on. It literally feels like you are staying at someones house while they are getting on with their own life. There are not enough bathroom facilities and there are too many beds in the 8 man dorm. The saving grace for this hostel was the owner and his wife who was extremely friendly, helpful and trusting. I think an experience here totally depends on what day of the week/time of the day you catch it on. Could probably stay somewhere nicer but the location is good.
