“Wonderful place to stay, just needs a bit more polish :-)”

This B&B was great. Fernanda is so sweet and as helpful as she can. Her english wasn't great, but we managed!! The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, the best we had in Argentina. Quite a bit more then toast, jam and coffee.
They are very willing to help their guests by calling to make reservation, but we felt like they just hadn't gotten their process down yet. They need more brochures of things to do in the city, recomendations, maps of the city, etc. to make it easier for guests. They gave us a map when we arrived, but after a day we realized it must have been a personal map they had, and they may not have meant for us to keep it!
I do recommend this place, close to subway, clean, comfortable. The patio and the apartment space is lovely. You do sort of feel like you're staying in someone's apartment, not a B&B. I suggest this is a good spot for people that have been to the city already or have already made a plan for each day and don't need any guidance of any kind.

Thank you for your review!
Our satisfaction is based in our guests' satisfaction.
We want everybody to go back home having nice memories about Tesorito and Buenos Aires.
We have many books and brochures to consult so maybe we have not been able to understand your needs.
We are going to be more careful in the future.

Thanks again!

“Inceredible Hospitality in Buenos Aires”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2011

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Tesorito for a few days. It was, by far, the best B & B I've ever experienced! The location was perfect - within walking distance of many of the sites which we wanted to see. The entire facility was beautiful and comfortable. Our breakfast each morning was delicious and bountiful! Our host and hostess were very helpful and generous with their time. Finally, the rates were extremely reasonable - especially for that area of the city. We loved staying here and hope to return someday!!

“Wonderful B&B”

We so enjoyed our stay at Tesorito. Fernanda and Ahmed are very warm and so accommodating and helpful in making arrangements and suggestions. The breakfasts were delicious ham, cheese, buns fresh fruit etc. The rooms are lovely and the patio is a real treat. It was so nice to come home and relax there after sightseeing. The area was great and very easy to get around. We didn't take the subway but between walking, buses and taxis we had no trouble seeing the city. Would recommend this B&B to anyone.

“A Wonderful Oasis”

This may be the best B&B I ever stayed in. Located a block away from a metro station and a bus station (bus 152), in the middle of Recoleta, this is a real find. Because it is small, you get full use of the living-room, the dining-room and the patio besides your own large bedroom. Television and CD player in the living-room, other TV in the bedroom. Beautiful colors, cheerful paintings painted by hostess Fernanda, and the leafy patio makes you feel as if you were in the countryside. Ahmed and Fernanda are warm and lively people. Ahmed, born in Algeria, is fluent in 4 languages, and Fernanda, born in Argentina, has a gift for design.
Last point: their breakfast is SO good! They serve orange juice made from sweet squeezed oranges. Absolutely delicious!
A tip: Don't look for good restaurants near by, we did not find any. Just take a taxi to Palermo Viejo (around $5) where good restaurants abound, and where the neighborhood is much more inviting for a stroll.

“Exceeded Every Expectation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

At USD $ 85 a night for five nights, the Tesorito B&B exceeded my every expectation. The B&B is located on the first floor (buzzer 1P-D) of a seven floor building in a residential neighborhood a block away from Avenida Santa Fe and the Puerreydon metro stop. Taxis always available. The B&B itself is a dining room, a living room, a ground-floor courtyard, a bedroom with attached private bathroom. The dining room has a door to an area for the owners Fernanda and Ahmed, who use this as an office and kitchen. They live upstairs in a separate apartment. They are very friendly and have a lot of helpful advice about Buenos Aires. It was like a home away from home.

The bedroom was great and has its own lock. Comfortable bed with windows facing the private courtyard. Air conditioning (by remote) worked well. Small safe available for valuables. TV worked fine. Free wi-fi.

Breakfast was fantastic. Ham & Cheese – eggs upon request. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Croissants with jams and dulce de leche. Coffee & Tea. Plenty of Fresh fruit. They will serve it to you whenever you want it.

The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water at decent pressure. To work the shower/bathtub: the left one controls the hot water. The middle one alters faucet vs. shower head. The right one controls the cold water. Keep turning that left one to get the hot water flowing.

The living room area was beautifully and comfortably furnished. Lots of free liquor (think limoncello) and glasses for guests’ use. When we arrived, they had Miles Davis playing and the whole place smelled faintly of fresh roses.

Location. As you exit the building, turn left towards Santa Fe avenue. Once at Santa Fe, there is Citibank to the right (and HSBC further down). There is a middle-class restaurant La Payuca which was a reliable place to eat that seemed fairly authentic (if salty) and popular with the locals. The 152 Bus runs down Santa Fe – both downtown (and then on to the feisty neighborhood of Boca) and the other way past the Plaza Italia towards Mittre Station from which the Tren de la Costa departs to Tigre. It is a slow (25 mins) but steady and cheap bus ride. Be sure to have coins. Also on Santa Fe is the Puerreydon metro stop which takes you into downtown. In sum, the neighborhood is safe and is not to far from Recoleta (10-15 minutes); Palmero ‘Soho’ (10-15 minutes). It’s about a 20-25 peso ride to most parts of downtown. 40 pesos to Retiro Train/Bus Station. When you arrive from the airport, go to Taxi EZE (or other reputable firm) and pay 120 pesos for a direct taxi to the B&B. Make sure you change money at Banco de La Naccion (but at any case not the rip-off company located at the baggage pick-up area).

Finally, just to emphasize how friendly Fernanda & Ahmed are. When we returned to Buenos Aires early in the morning to catch a evening flight back to NYC, they let us store our luggage at the B&B, take hot showers and even put together a breakfast for us. Unbelievable generosity!
