“Good enough... but not 5*”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I went 725 for 5 nights on vacations.
The Hotel is very clean, but the location its not exceptional - its near from everything, but i prefer san telmo or Palermo. If you like to go to Calle Florida, its a good option.
The room (standard in 3rd floor) was big and clean.
The breakfast was the best thing in entire hotel !!! With a lot of options. The service and staff its ok... but its far from a 5* hotel !

“Is breakfast included ?”

We enjoyed a two night stay at this very convenient and comfortable hotel.

However on both mornings at breakfast we were asked to sign for payment of breakfast despite advising staff that we had a voucher stating that breakfast was included. The charges for breakfast for both mornings was also presented on our bill at checkout.

Fortunately I had a copy of my voucher and the charges were removed. This should not happen when agents make bookings at top class hotels. We were disappointed that this occurred.

“Great, trendy hotel right in the centre of Buenos Aires”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My review is similar to the previous person writing a review on january 3rd, 2012.
We stayed at the Castelar hotel, and moved to the 725 continental, which we were very satisfied with. The luggage/concierge guy helped us with our bags when we arrived at the hotel. They had upgraded us, so we got a nice room with a bathtub.
All the staff have been very professional, friendly and very serviceminded - especially Christian at the reception, Analia by the rooftop pool and a very nice concierge guy, whose name I didn't get. Everyone is very nice and almost everyone speak english.
The breakfast is fantastic, a chef does eggs for you and there is a big variety in the breakfast.
The maid cleans your room every day, which was very nice.
There is a fitnessroom with a few machines to work out with and if you're looking to get massage, it is highly recommended! They are really good! Make sure to get it in the room as it can get noisy by the fitness room.
The hotel's coffee (cappuchino) is really good, however their food could be better, and a bit pricy for what you get.
We ate a nice dinner at Estilo Campo by Puerto Madero and it was very nice with good service from our waiter, Fernando!
Our last dinner place was at La Brigada in San Telmo, it's a must in Buenos Aires - Their reviews are great too!
One thing you need to know about the hotel and the centre of Buenos Aires is that you should come in the weekends, as it is nice and quiet! During the week, it can get very noisy and we got waken up every night by some alarm and a clock on the street.
It is so lovely on saturdays and sundays :-)

“A small oasis in the centre of Buenos Aires”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

After travelling from Rio de Janeiro where we stayed in the Ipanema Plaza which was an absolute disgrace we arrived at the 725Continental. Santiago in reception greeted us with a smile, checked us in, and recommended and booked a lovely restaurant for the evening which turned out to be exquisite. Ezekiel happily helped us with our luggage and also provided us with the wifi password.  The staff are all helpful but non-intrusive at the same time. The rooms are clean and dust free (if you are an allergy sufferer like me this makes quite a difference). The cleaners change the linen almost daily and generally do a reasonably good job. Overall the hotel is very well maintained and clean. Breakfast is rather delightful with pastries and breads, fresh fruits and eggs and even champagne if you fancy a glass of bubbles in the morning. The only criticism I have, like a previous reviewer, is that the walls are quite thin and it can get a bit noisy when the cleaners are busy cleaning in the mornings. Nevertheless, I was willing to overlook this because the hotel has so many other plus points such as a small haven on the roof top with spectacular views and a pristine pool kept very clean by a young man. During a stay here I would highly recommend the restaurant recommended by Santiago, called Palermo Mu in Gorriti 5615. It offers superb food and atmosphere at very reasonable prices and quite authentic too unlike the tourist traps such as Rodizio in Puerto Madero (a rip off with the worst service I've come across). If you have long hair like me you probably would require a hairdresser in which case I would recommend Conti just around the corner where they blow dried my hair for about 50 pesos.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, not overlooking the main road.

“classic charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

In an older building the interiors are done in contemporary style.
My standard room had beautiful old hardwood floors and a nice bathtub.
Internet connection was a bit slow and clunky but the room was great. If I was going to stay in Buenos long term I would love to be here.
Nice stationary in the room. A nice small touch.
This is one of my favorite hotels ever.
