“A Good Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Last time I visited Buenos Aires (2007), I paid about $60 a night in a lovely nearby Palermo B&B, so I was a bit shocked to see how much prices had increased since then. I pulled up a Google map to see EVERY hotel in the vicinity (I was looking to be near the domestic airport since we had an ungodly early flight out the morning after we arrived in BA), and I researched pretty much everything until I settled on this place as the best bet between quality and price. And I'd say it was a good choice. I was looking for a clean, comfortable, well situated place for a reasonable price, and this was it.

Like another reviewer mentioned, our street facing room was fairly loud, especially with motorcycle/scooter roaring engines, so a courtyard facing room would be better. Even so, and even as a very noise sensitive person, it was okay. But, this is summer, so we had the AC on too...and the hum of the AC helped moderate the noise. In winter....would it have been okay? Not sure.

Overally, happy. Our room was quite large, no frills (which is just what we like), breakfast was good and included good choices. The staff was very helpful.

I'd go back.

Room Tip: rooms facing the courtyard and away from the street undoubtedly would be quieter.

“Great location .... not so great Boutique”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2011

The location was great - shops / bars / restaurants...anything you need! The staff was very pleasant and helpful!!! However, there is no gym in the hotel which several sites had listed there was. I had a room that faced the street and could hear the street traffic, quite noisy. I also could hear the other hotel guests. I had requested a quieter room but they said those rooms were more expensive and if I wanted to cancel my stay I would have to pay a one night cancellation fee. So, I opted for the more expensive quieter room...they did give it to me for a slight discount. I couldn't hear the street noise but I could still hear the noise from the hotel, guests etc. Overall the staff and location were great - but the actual rooms left somehing to be desired for the amount of money they charge.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms away from the street!

“really happy”

After having two mediocre experiences with boutique hotels in Palermo, I've finally stayed in one I'd quite happily recommend to people.

The location is fantastic. The hotel is well decorated and clean and there's a backyard I would have loved to eat breakfast on if the weather were warmer. The breakfast is not overly lavish but great. I didn't have too much interaction with the staff but where I did they were very nice.
My room was on the third floor so it helped that there was an elevator. I appreciated that even though my room was directly next to the elevator, I didn't hear it moving.
The bed was comfortable and I love that the pillows doubled as body pillows. The room was spacious and clean with ample closet space and a safe.

My only gripes: the internet access didn't work so well in my room, and I couldn't open the blinds in my window to see the street, but neither of these were really that big of a problem for me.

I would definitely stay here again and without hesitation recommend this place to anyone.

“Can't beat the location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2010

Synergie was a great place to start our travel in South America. They arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport, which was a huge help since we were jet lagged, new to the country, and unsure of where we were going. The hotel itself is small, but the back courtyard is a little oasis in the middle of Palermo Soho. Our room, facing the courtyard, was a good size, had its own balcony, and was very quiet. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was kind of outdated, and the shower didn't drain extremely quickly. But for the price (we booked over another website, not directly through the hotel's website), it couldn't be beat. Malabia Street is a great location to explore Palermo Soho, with great restaurants, cafes, and boutiques close by. Don't miss Muma's Cupcakes. The staff members at Synergie were very nice, though not all of the front desk people spoke English. Those who did were incredibly helpful, and those who didn't were friendly and as accommodating as possible. You're not going to get a ton of service or amenities here, but that's why it's priced the way it is. You're paying for the location and the assurance of having a comfortable bed. We thought the breakfast was good, and it was nice to eat in the courtyard. It was also helpful to have free wi-fi for our Laptop. There was also a computer in the lobby area for all guests to use.
