Last time I visited Buenos Aires (2007), I paid about $60 a night in a lovely nearby Palermo B&B, so I was a bit shocked to see how much prices had increased since then. I pulled up a Google map to see EVERY hotel in the vicinity (I was looking to be near the domestic airport since we had an ungodly early flight out the morning after we arrived in BA), and I researched pretty much everything until I settled on this place as the best bet between quality and price. And I'd say it was a good choice. I was looking for a clean, comfortable, well situated place for a reasonable price, and this was it.
Like another reviewer mentioned, our street facing room was fairly loud, especially with motorcycle/scooter roaring engines, so a courtyard facing room would be better. Even so, and even as a very noise sensitive person, it was okay. But, this is summer, so we had the AC on too...and the hum of the AC helped moderate the noise. In winter....would it have been okay? Not sure.
Overally, happy. Our room was quite large, no frills (which is just what we like), breakfast was good and included good choices. The staff was very helpful.
I'd go back.
