“Fantastic stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2010

Che Telmo was the perfect choice for my first trip to chaotic Buenos Aires. A cozy guesthouse in the busy San Telmo district, it provided a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, with clean rooms, free internet, comfortable sitting areas and more. Breakfast was light but always good.
And although owner Mario speaks little English, he was very helpful (with a hand from Google translate) in pointing me toward many of the citiy´s highlights.
As a home away from home or central headquarters for an Argentina vacation, Che Telmo certainly fit the bill. I will be back.

“A lovely, homely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2009

We loved this little guesthouse. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city and near the subway, but still very quiet - we got no street noise at all. The owner, Mario, is so helpful and friendly and very keen to make sure his guests have everything they need. Breakfast is good - coffee, tea, toast and croissants, and freshly squeezed juice. Guests can cook in the kitchen and there is a nice lounge to relax in. Each room is themed as a different Argentinian icon, eg Evita, Maradona, Che Guevara and rooms are spacious and spotless. The guesthouse is in an apartment building so is very secure. The owners have made a real effort with this place. I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to BA one day.

“Friendly, homely and great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2009

We stayed here for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay due to Che Telmo´s fabulous location and the friendly owners. The guesthouse is located just a few minutes from Plaza de Mayo and the metro (called Subte) for getting around Buenos Aires easily.

From the moment we arrived, Mario was very welcoming and helpful. He helped us book a tango show for the first evening and arranged for us to go to see the football on the second day (we would recommend going with a ´fan´or guide if its your first Bs As match!).

The bedrooms at Che Telmo are very cosy and nice and they were cleaned every day. There are two bathrooms shared between four rooms (as far as we can remember!), and they are kept clean and tidy, and we didn´t have any problems with the bathroom not being available despite the guesthouse being full.

Breakfast is reasonable with medialunas, tea, coffee and juice, and there are kitchen facilities if you want to keep things in the fridge. There is free internet access and wifi and a bookcase with some guidebooks to borrow.

Overall, we would highly recommend Che Telmo for couples and friends on weekends away, or as part of a longer trip. We´re going back for our last night at the end of our trip in a few weeks!

“In home in Buenos Aires”

WE went to buenos aires last month, we search a place to stay, all the family, 2 adults and two children, one of 7 years old, and one of one year old. Traveling with children and with a strech prespuest,
is not easy. At Che Telmo, the children were very well recived, the owners of the hotel were very kind with them, and that its really important. The price was very good if we considered that we were four, and if we also considered that the hotel was very good placed.

Chez Telmo is a beautiful apartment located in San Telmo. The owners, Marta and Mario, made our stay unforgettable. They were extremely nice and helpful and we shared many moments chatting with them about the most diverse subjects. They also helped us out to move through the city by recommending various locations to visit, all of which worth it.

The apartment itself is very clean. It offers the perfect setting for privacy and socializing if desired. During breakfast (by the way, it is great and served at everyone's convenience) we met other travelers willing to share their experiences in this marvelous city and country.

The location is great too. There is a lot of stuff going on in San Telmo and anybody willing to go for a walk can go to several places around. Puerto Madero, La Casa Rosada, 9 de Julio, Florida street are all within walking distance. Also, Mario will be more than willing to call you a cab or tell you what bus to take if you want to move around on your own. On Sundays, there is a fair in San Telmo which is absolutely worth the visit with many stands selling artcrafts and people dancing tango, or doing other performances.

All we can say is that this was an excellent place to stay. Marta and Mario were very kind and we will recommend it to anybody asking for a place in Buenos Aires.
