“Lovely Spanish villa”

Perfect hide a way just off the beaten path, but easy walking to 9 de Julio, San Telmo, and more. Secluded, authenic feel with all the conveniences. Lots of bed configurations, including a room with 4 twins, 2 in the loft. Wi-fi in the sitting room as well as in some of the close-in lodging rooms. Very helpful staff--attentive at breakfast and helpful in getting a driver to the airport. Friendly for non-Spanish speakers. Would do again!

“Quality service in lovely environment”

La Cayetana is an oasis in the bustling city of Buenos Aires. There is always friendly and accommodating (English speaking) staff available to help with a restaurant reservation, a taxi, sightseeing advice etc.
The rooms are clean and all have a personal touch with a unique antique style without being over the top. The beds are comfortable. La Cayetana is a small, personal, friendly, no-frills kind of place. When we came back after 10 days of touring Argentina it felt like coming home.
The hotel feels completely safe, and there are some hotels nearby, but the neighborhood is fairly quiet. It is close enough to San Telmo and other areas with shopping and night life if that is what you are looking for.
We loved the personal atmosphere of the hotel.

“A trip to the past”

I found this hotel by chance because the hotel I had booked told me at the last minute they had not reserved my room. La Cayetana is an old colonial building in the middle of Buenos Aires and it's part of a bigger building with apartments. The place is absolutely lovely. The common areas have antique furniture and there's a lovely courtyard where you can just sit outside and relax while having breakfast or make plans for the day. The room was clean and the bathroom had a nice marble counter top and was also very clean. Maybe the room would have been a bit too small for 4 people since there was an upper level in my room with another double bed. The service was excellent and the guy at the desk was super helpful and gave me a lot of information to visit the city. This place has more of a private atmosphere so you're not going to have porters carrying your luggage from the door to your room but it is a great way to have a taste of the old fashion Buenos Aires. The only thing that put me off a little is that in the streets nearby there were some prostitutes at night although I felt pretty safe (and I was traveling alone). The neighborhood is close to the University district so it is pretty busy at all times and there are plenty of places where you can eat for cheap.

“Charming, small hotel with offbeat character”

We have spent only one night in this hotel, before our departure to Europe. We got by mail the attractive price, with discount for cash payment and late check out /about 07.00 pm /, without any extra charges. The location is in a very authentic area, which looks rather untidy but finally we found it safe and friendly.
The room, we had, was quite dark, but large and quiet . The nicest part of the hotel is the shadowed courtyard, with grass and trees.Excellent for the hot days.
The staff very helpful and attentive.

“Charming Serene Centrally Located Haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2010

I stayed 2 nights with my girlfriend. It was a really charming hotel, clean, but not sterile and plasticy like some hotels can be. The staff are very useful, which is especially valuable in a city where good information is hard to come by. They are very helpful with arranging airport transfers and arranged a very good deal for us to get the the airport by taxi.

They can give you excellent advice on transportation, things to do, nightlife and they prepare a lovely breakfast in the morning.

I highly recommend La Cayetana
