Same as the last review, we were sent to Old Friends Hostel and told it was "new", which is not true. For my first week in Buenos Aires, I rented an apartment with a group of friends and it was terrific. They all left a day earlier than my boyfriend and me, so we booked this hostel for our last night. We were pretty exhausted from a week of wine and beef, so we just wanted to relax and this place was a disaster zone. First, we showed up and the place was a total mess. It looked like there was a huge party the night before and no one there cared to clean it up. Second, no staff members were working throughout the entirety of our 1 night/2 day stay. We were greeted (by a guest) and given our keys by 2 people who were living there long term in the dorms and just “help out” with the hostel when needed. We didn’t meet the owner/manager until the next day when our cab was there to take us to the airport. Third, these long term residents seem to all be friends and party together (hence the mess) and they are very loud. Playing music, singing, etc. at all times of the day and night, only stopping to smoke and eat. If that is your thing, it could be a perfect place, but if you just want to relax and not be too bothered, stay away.
