If you are booking Casa Jardin by checking out its website, I would just advise you that the website is deceptive. And the Frommer's Guide (where we found the place) seems to have just copied the website without actually visiting the place. This was a great place to meet people and the staff were really nice but it was not the most comfortable hostel or best value. It's cute, but some of the rooms smelled strongly of mold and the cleaning seemed very superficial. The beds were terrible - my mattress was so thin I could feel the wooden slats below. Since breakfast isn't included, it isn't really that good of a deal. It is more of a hostel than the upscale artists' retreat that the website suggests. We didn't see any artists or gallery openings. There also isn't an internet station - you have to kick the receptionist off the computer to check your email at the front desk. The location is great though and it is cheaper than most accomodations in Palermo. If you want to be in Palermo, it may be a good choice, but just go in with realistic expectations.

I stayed here for a week as a single female traveller and felt at home. It's not necessarily the cleanest hostel I have been to but the people and connections with Portenos more than make up for it. There's a cute roof top with lots of plants, chill chairs and a giant asado. Stayed in the single on the roof for a couple of those nights and found it cramped, the bed waaay to soft and the floor super dusty. Not worth it. Stay in the dorm rooms downstairs! Great location, 2 blocks from Plaza Italia and the Parks. Happening Plaza Serrano is just a couple blocks away.
