“A home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Casa Jardin was my home from home whilst learning Spanish for a couple of months in Buenos Aires. I had intended to rent an apartment for most of my stay in the city but enjoyed it so much that stayed put for the extra month. It is a beautiful old style home well located in Palermo and Ariel who manages the house goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. Forget the Cabrera, Ariel's Asados are worth the wait and his cooking skills are legendary!

“Really the best!”

As a female solo traveller, Casa Jardin was everything I could have needed and more! From the friendly, welcoming, and super-helpful staff to the comfortable beds to the excellent location (Palermo SoHo), Casa Jardin has it all! It's not a noisy or crazy hostel, but if you're travelling alone or want a good night's rest, then it's really one of the best deals in town! The only downside: no AC, but they have fans and it's actually quite comfortable.

“My Favorite Hostel in the World!!!”

I have traveled for many years around the world and never have I stayed in such a wonderful place with so much character and comfort. The owners and staff are incredible and so helpful for people new to Buenos Aires. Its a family owned place, so you really feel that when you walk in there. There is a warm, loving energy to it and a place I will always go back too. The hostel itself is inside a beautiful turn of the century building with the character of old buenos aires. Another amazing thing about this place are the people who stay there- its filled with great people! Artists, young travelers, old travelers and its not a loud party hostel kind of place instead its the sort of place that you can relax and just enjoy being there.

  • Liked — Everything, especially the rooftop garden
  • Disliked — nothing- love it!

“A really lovely hostel...”

My stay at this hostel was great. My friend booked a room for us to share and we lucked out with a private room in the roof garden, which had 2 beds. The room was clean, and although there was no AC, there was a fan, but in the hotter months it may be a bit much. The bathrooms are clean enough, although no towels are supplied, they can be rented for a 2 peso fee. The neighborhood is central to the hip part of the city. It's in 5 block proximity to the best shopping and restaurants in the city. The owner, Rosanna, was very helpful with directions and giving us advice where to eat, etc. The guests during our stay seemed to be mostly English speaking. I would recommend this place to friends.
