“Good, but could be so much better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

We stayed here for one night and were slightly disappointed overall. We booked the suite and paid US$110 for the night. The room is very spacious, has a jacuzzi a nd a terrace. When I turned on the jacuzzi it was clear it hadn't been turned on in a long time. When the air started pumping out flowed out alot of dirt. Obviously it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The girls on reception were very helpful, we needed to book flights the next day and they were able to help us sort that out. A slight problem arose the next morning. We asked for breakfast for 7.15am in order to leave the hotel at 7.30, however when we went downstairs at 7.10am the porter only started making breakfast. Breakfast was poor, and this lapse showed a serious lack of professionalism. The room was good but the lack of customer care is something that drags the hotel down significantly.

“They took great care of me--lovely building, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

I came for one night, but when the volcano in Chile repeatedly delayed my flight home, the lovely staff at Palermo Boutique Hotel worked with me each morning to extend my stay, and, on a night when they were booked, set me up down the street and stored my bags for me so I wouldn't have to lug them around. Just wonderful, personal attention and care.

The building has a great indoor/outdoor feel, with a sense of the garden and plants via the floor to ceiling leaded glass windows. A charming, cozy, unique space with lots of exposed brick and high ceilings.

The two rooms I stayed in were great--a suite off the garden and pool set off by itself felt very private, like my own studio apartment. And the amazing big suite upstairs was a luxurious treat with its private terrace and jacuzzi tub.

“Charming house, totally overlooked details”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

We stayed for two nights in the garden room. It is a great space with huge windows and a big open bathroom. Unfortunately, it really needs desperately a coat of paint and repairs.
The same can be said for the whole hotel. The building is absolutely enchanting, has great features and huge spaces. But it does look run-down and tired and at the end of the day you do not want to have to "overlook" things, in order to enjoy your stay.
Liked: the building, the spaces, the garden, the friendly staff, the proximity to Palermo, their helpfulness in accomodating our baby, although they noted they rarely get children.
Desliked: the overall disappointing state of disrepair, the poor breakfast, the really bad (virtually non-existant in our room) internet connection.
In conclusion I would say, do stay there if you want to be close to the fantastic Palermo area and you do not plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel, but don't if you need to work in your room or pay attention to the holes in bedshit.

“Great Place, Great Host, Great Location”

I arrived early morning and was immediately greeted warmly and invited to join the other guests around the scruptious breakfast table. My room was ready soon afterwards and was spacious, interesting and comfortable. From the Hotel it is an easy walk to many interesting shops and markets and a short walk to the subway for quick access into the City Centre. The staff were all very helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, and I learnt many things about Argentina and met many charming travellers. Exellent.

“Amazing master suite but let down by hostel quality bed/linen and service...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

We recently stayed in the master suite on recommendation from the hedonist guide which never travel without.

The building is a former battery factory and has a cool warehouse feel, private lift to our room the entire top floor and great jacuzzi and twin showers.... However... This initial impression was seriously let down by the room really needing an overdue revamp, the sinks were cracked, the mosaic tiling- of which there is an abundance was mouldy and cracking. The jacuzzi itself was in good condition.

The most disappointing issuecwas the linen and bed, lumpy odd sized pillows with no protectors so the yellow stained pillow on full view, threadbare stained sheets which improved slightly as I requested new sheetscandcatvleast a protector for the mattress that was exposed asvthe sheets were not fitted, all a bit grim and a shame really has potential.

It wasn't a problem for us ascwe sleep well but is quite noisy and you can hear the door buzzer or anyone coming home a bit rowdy late at night, oh and they host wedding receptions so the fri and sat we were there we had quite a bit of noise until midnight which was fine for us.

The cleaning was average, dust everywhere on arrival, drinks in the mini bar half consumed and we actually had to request loo paper after the maid had been.

Lastly the service was very average, it wasn't terrible just quite average with one of the staff bordering on sour.
