Good location with superb service by very friendly and helpful staff. The room and hotel in general was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend it to fellow travellers.

A good hotel in Buenos Aires. Pros: good prices, great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Cons: our room definitely needed some renovation. Pictures are much better than what it really looks. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed, favoring interaction among guests. Better for singles, rather than couples. All in all, a decent hotel.

This hotel is in the Recoleta district in Buenos Aires, just one block from Av. Santa Fe and its many shops and restaurants. Recoleta is one of the most elegant neighbourhoods, with a mixture of high-end residential, embassies, government and commercial building. The hotel itself is in a quiet position opposite a large park. There are local stores to grab snacks and restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance.

The welcome at the hotel was warm and friendly. Although we arrived at 11am, our paperwork was ready and the front desk was happy to arrange an early check-in at no extra cost. It was just a question of whether the room had been cleaned. The front desk also helped us with information regarding the local area, suggested walking routes and helped arrange an airport transfer for the following day. Very efficient and responsive.

The room we were given was Room 501, a suite/junior suite. The hotel is quite small and we seemed to be the only room on the 5th floor. There was a real wow as we entered the room. Facing us were full height windows looking out over the park opposite. Overall the room was well equipped (kitchenette, small dining table, sofa, coffee table, flat screen TV, large king sized bed). Exactly what we were expecting. It was well laid out and spacious. The floors were polished concrete which we loved.

I personally didn't like the bathroom layout. The bath/shower was a large spa bath. It was difficult to get in (and not suitable for anyone with any mobility problem) and when showering, water went everywhere, leaving the surrounding floor wet and slippery. The room also looked a little tired. It was just small things like peeling paint, worn surfaces and chipped edges on furniture. It didn't affect the utility of the room, just the clean look.

Apart from these minor shortcomings, the room was great. We had an excellent nights sleep. The huge bed was very comfortable and not at all hard (like I was expecting).

If staying here, make sure that you take a walk over to Cemetery de Recoleta and Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar. The cemetery in particular was a surprise, and a highlight of our visit. You can see the grave of Eva Peron, and other famous Argentinians. Very impressive. If you are there on a weekend, there is a arts and crafts market in the square nearby.

A couple of afterthoughts: There was a 24/7 breakfast bar in the hotel. We didn't use it, but expect it would be a handy feature. We were also offered a free drink in the downstairs bar. Again, we didn't use it, but a nice touch.

Friendly and helpful staff - relaxed easy going atmosphere, and comfortable, well designed spaces.
