“A perfect hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This hotel has everything! The location was excellent. The staff was fantastic! The concierge Maria was particularly helpful. The housekeeping was beyond perfect. This hotel defines luxury and comfort. This was my first time in BA and this hotel is part of the reason I fell so deeply in love with the city. Every detail was impeccable. Classy, cool, old world, modern and amazing service. Thank you Park Hyatt BA for reminding me that you can expect it all and get it!

“excellent city hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This is so unlike a chain hotel. It is far better to stay in the tower and look at the palace over the garden. Breakfast on the Palace balcony is a must. The indoor swimming pool is huge and a good spa. I stay here several times a year and is one of my very top city hotels. Good staff, if only the check out was swifter.

Room Tip: Overlooking the garden

“Felt like royalty in this palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

From the moment I entered the hotel I felt like royalty or a spoiled celebrity. The hotel is gorgeous, the room spacious and comfortable with top of the line amenities, but first and foremost was the service. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, happy, and welcomed. The hotel screams European extravagance but the staff exude such charm and attention you feel like you are staying at a quaint inn at times. We started our time in Buenos Aires across town on Calle Florida; taking in Puerto Madero, San Telmo, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the shopping and hustle and bustle synonymous with that area. We then moved to the Hyatt for a few nights in the heart of the Recoleta district and quickly realized we should have spent more time in this part of town. The botiques rivaled anything in New York and Paris (great for window shopping, not so much for buying), the cafes were full of locals, and the proximity to Cementerio de la Recoleta and the Floralis Genérica at the El Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. Splitting our time between the two parts of town also made the trip seem half Latin and half European.

When we weren't strolling around the neighborhood we were strolling around the hotel; the art is fantastic, there are plenty of places to get lost and find a place to sit and relax, the gardens outside are great for a drink, and the pool and spa a relaxing place to unwind after a day of touring. The pool was so relaxing we both fell asleep on the lounge chairs to the melodic hum of the spa music.

I can't say enough about this hotel, but I do think the one drawback is it's price. It's a great place to use your Hyatt points for free nights but if I had to pay for my room I might have experienced serious sticker shock. So Hyatt point holders, this is your place to get massive value for your points.

“Best of Both Worlds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Classic architecture of the Palacio blends effortlessly with modern art and contemporary furnishings in the guestrooms. Employees are impeccable at all times, warm and friendly while at the same time, chic and stylish...food is delicious in both restaurants, and the patio is beautiful for diniing as well. The spa and indoor pool are fabulous. The location cant be beat...Need I more?????

“A great luxury option - but where was the latin passion?”

Perfect in many ways - with well appointed and spacious rooms, great facilities (bar, restaurant, spa and pool (for lappers, not kids). Crumbs, the general manager even met us upon arrival - should have been a perfect stay. Not quite! So where did it trip up. It was the little things, such as the concierge being in the new building - meaning if you are in the old building you are out of luck (the front desk did not know that a wine seller was locate 30m from their front door), the worse continental breakfast room service has ever brought me (croissants were not fresh, and coffee and orange juice by the glass rather than the jug, no fruit or yogurt optional not standard), a request for a toothbrush at 1am being ignored (despite two calls). But it comes down to heart, and the Palacio missed that little je ne sais quoi. So while the Alvear (see my other review) may have been the classic Lamborghini - impractical but spirited, the Palacio was the Porche Carrera - solid, full of toys, but perhaps lacking a little soul.
