“Terrific hotel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This is a well located hotel in Recoleta and a special place. The standard rooms are quite large and well appointed. The staff are excellent and did everything to help us. For eg. they let us shower in the spa early when we arrived and late prior to our departure. They put the Superbowl on the bar TV for us and did everyhting they could to make us feel wanted. Great place to stay.

“Lovely hotel but don't bother with deluxe 'extras'.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This hotel is boutique, has lovely decor, does an excellent breakfast and is in an excellent location in Recoleta and almost next door to our favourite restaurant Fervor.
We were booked in here on a 4 night deluxe package that offered butler service, superior bed and bathroom linen, gifts each night and free use of the room mini bar.
The rooms are nice, the bed linen was good but the negatives were bathroom towels and robes that badly needed replacing, gifts on only two nights of the four, we had to ask to have drinks replaced in our room each day, and we found the drinks from the bar to be very expensive even compared to those in other top bars in the area.
I

Room Tip: Dont pay for the extra deluxe service

“Very good hotel in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights (in two separate stints) in December 2011 / January 2012. I would have come back for a third time, but the hotel was full on those dates.

I was really pleased with my choice. The location couldn't be better and this was a really important issue for me because I was travelling on my own. The street is quiet, but sufficiently populated to feel safe walking alone (even at night). All of the main attractions of Recoleta were within a couple of blocks and it was an easy walk (or cheap cab ride) to the Microcenter or main tourist areas.

Both of my rooms were very good. Very clean, plenty of room, lovely king bed and a good bathroom - certainly no complaints from me. I was also pleasantly surprised to have a free wifi in both rooms - I had understood that it was only available in the lobby, but I had a strong signal in both of my rooms (which were in different parts of the hotel).

The staff were very helpful and there was always someone on the front desk and at breakfast who spoke English well. The breakfasts (which were included) were also among the best I had in 3.5 weeks in South America.

They let me store some bags for 2 weeks (in between stays) and then again for 4 days (after I had checked-out for the last time). They also allowed me to have a shower late on the day I checked-out in the spa. I know most decent hotels will do this, but I still really appreciated it.

All in all, a very good experience. When I couldn't get into this hotel for my last 2 nights in BA, I went to the Melia Buenos Aires - it was also very good and it was good to be in a different part of the city - see my separate review. I had never stayed in a Melia hotel before this trip.

“Melia excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

My husband and I were visiting family in Buenos Aires and spent 11 nights at the Melia Recoleta. From making reservations to our final check-out, we were delighted at the cooperation, expertise, and warmth of the staff. The rooms are lovely and well-kept, the breakfast plentiful, and the location superb. We are already planning our next stay!

“Good Boutique Hotel in Recoleta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We spent 4 nights in the Melia over New Year's with our two sons. The rooms were not cheap..$320/night for the deluxe room and $280/night for the standard room...and don't forget about the extra 21% tax! The deluxe room had an attached patio with a couch and a jacuzzi, but the rooms were the same size as the standard. The concierge was very helpful in advance of our visit, and the staff was also helpful. Breakfast was included and more than adequate. The location was very good, just around the corner from the Alvear Palace in Recoleta. It was easy to get a taxi, although most taxi drivers will need an address to take you back there as it is a small hotel that is not generally known.

Room Tip: Only 4 rooms a floor, all rooms the same size.
