From the look of the impressive lobby it appears that in the late 70s or early 80s this hotel was reasonably upscale. You can't say the same for the exterior of the hotel or the rooms. It's in dire need a major renovation. I wouldn't describe it as 'run down', but very well worn and just on the edge of being shabby.

The rooms were dated and deteriorating. The bathroom was reasonably clean, but the toilet leaked. You could tell that it had been "fixed", maybe several times, but not by a professional - like the doorman just applied some caulking much of which had already eroded away. The toilet seat was cracked and peeling.

The air conditioning was fine. The breakfast was ample including links and scrambled eggs.

The rates are modest but the thing is there are better hotels for the money, like the Europlaza a few streets over. I would not recommend Hotel Conte since I think you can get better value elsewhere.

If they don't renovate soon, it won't matter because the hotel really will look tired and shabby.

During our stay, we enjoyed the comfortable room we used....the only "but" could have been the airconditioning that was very high and was not simple to adjust, and if you open the window, the strong sound of the principal avenue of Buenos Aires, 9 de Julio, was deep in our ears, anyhow, these are the consecuences of being close to everything, nice and friendly people, clean as you can see, strong breakfast, and wifi everywhere.

I was with my family at Conte Hotel trough Chrismas time, it was the worse experiense on our lives. My father had his Backpack in the room stolen, it was whith a lock and they took all his Backpack, not just opened and took the things from inside. He had money, the pass from my mother, and other silly things at his bag. At the moment that he realized that his Backpack was not there, we went to the reception and said that someone had it stolen , the recepcionist dont wanna do anything and said that it was not he´s problem, we start to say everybody, that just cross the reception, that we have been stollen IN the Hotel, in our Room !!! Then he realized that we are not lying. We went to the police station and at the other day when the hotel manager arrives , she excused and gave the money amount that had been stolen, but no one was incriminate !! At the Hotel lobby didnt had cameras !! Incredible.

I will never be there again. So if you are plaining to be at Conte Hotel just lock everything you have in a Huge bag!!

I think this hotel was perfect! I and my wife had a great time and a perfect service. The staff was always ready to help us and when we needed the room service was very good. We have problem with our air company (because the Chile volcan) and they provide very fast a new room for us that was not planed. The street is not so calm, and even in the 13 floor we could hear the sound but it was not terrible. The breakfast was excelent!!!!
When i go to Buenos Aires again i´m sure i´ll be back to Conte.
