We stayed here for a week in January in the Azul room which shares a bathroom with a single room down the hall. Overall the stay was very enjoyable. Room had two single beds with a/c and plenty of wardrobe space, the book case (full with novels and guidebooks) was a nice touch and adds to the homely feel of the whole place. The window in this room was small and not much sunlight gets in but we happy in the shade given the heat, beds very comfy. The hotel is based in an old house and is picturesque. When we retired for the night we did not here anyone till morning and the staff stayed out of your way as much as possible but were helpful when asked a question.
Breakfast includes cereals, bread, cheese, fresh oj and plenty of dulche de leche. It is served in the old dining room or you can sit in the shade on the patio.
The rooms and bathroom were spotless and the security is fantastic as you have to ring the door bell and meet the 24 hr receptionist for entry. The street on which the hotel sits is quiet but not menacing and the parallel streets have plenty of activity (family run businesses) at all hours. A small supermarket is next door and should stock whatever you need.
The nearest subway stop is Bulnes or Scalibrini Ortiz on the green line and is about a KM walk away. This can be a tough walk with a backpack but if you can figure out the BA bus network then you can get closer but good luck with that. Plenty of taxis if the above fails.
We stayed in January which is not the best month given the humidity and may be why only two of the other rooms were occupied but I would definitely stay here again.
