“Basic but ok hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We only stayed one night at the hotel as we had had to change our plans and needed to stay an extra night in BA. All was ok at the hotel but, compared to the other hotels in BA, this felt flat. Our suite was reasonably large but basic. No air con but temperature was ok. Staff's attitude was fine and they were happy to store our luggage whilst we were away that day - albeit there was no luggage room but it was only put next to the desk. Given the range of other accomodation in BA, whilst this will do you 'fine', I can't help feeling there are better options.

“ROBBED AT THIS HOTEL IN LOBBY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

I was robbed in the lobby of this hotel within an hour of being there - passport, wallet, credit cards, immigration VISAS, everything. My room was not ready and I closed my eyes in the lobby after my overnight flight - I had my bags between ME and the WALL, shielded with my body. When I opened my eyes, they were gone. I truly honestly believe I was robbed by the hotel staff. They were non-chalant about my distress and when I went up to the front desk and said IVE BEEN ROBBED, the man behind the counter said "I am busy helping this customer!". He was of little assistance and gestured under the chin to me meaning "Eff you". He was terrible. The manager talked to me days later with little apology. They did give me free internet access to try to contact the consulate. On top of this, we were afraid to leave in case they changed their tune and my things "appeared". Another day we found FOOTPRINTS on our pillows. We felt very unsafe. A true and utter nightmare. PLEASE do not stay at this hotel. IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR SAFETY and they could care less about your distress.

Room Tip: Please go elsewhere!

“An absolute disgrace”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

This hotel is totally overpriced, overheated, grungy and staffed by arrogant people who treat you like dirt. The elevators have lound beepers which sound everytime they passa floor and there is a loud announcement saying what floor the elevator is at and to close the doors all of which is clearly audible in the rooms. The central heating is central and even with the window open on a cold night the heat was unbearable, repeated requests to turn it off were ignored. The noise form the busy street is constant, 24/7 as many bus routes pass the hotel and there's the Argentine propensity to use their car horns which exacerbates the cacophony. The internet signal is very weak and many pages can't load. The breakfast food is mediocre and stale (they apparently keep putting it out until it gets eaten even if it's a week which is not good gor things like cheese and ham etc) and the coffee vile. The rack-rate of USD110 is a joke, many other 3 star hotels in Buenos Aires offer far better service and amentities for USD80 and I for one recommend you do not consider this hotel for a minute. It is appalling.

“Good quality for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2011

We stayed two nights, and we loved it. We booked online and got a really good deal. When we got there, we realized we had a suite (bedroom, bathroom and an additional room with a couch and a large entrance) with really high ceilings. It was very roomy, clean and useful. We also had a safe in our room with no additional charge. The hotel is equipped with renovated old style elevators, which adds to its charm. Another good surprise was the included breakfast: the best choice we got so far, with lots of fruits on top of the other Argentinian breakfast stuff (croissants, dulce de leche and jams, pastries, cereals, juices, ham and cheese and coffee). There were mostly Brazilians in the hotel. The only negative comment: the walls are not very soundproof, we could hear our neighbours in the morning and people waiting for the elevators, but we were lucky because everyone was quiet. About the location, it's a short walk from calle Florida, and about 10-15 minutes walk from Playa de Mayo. It's central, but you'll need to walk to the Subtle, there's none really close.

“Great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2010

I was there with my mother for 4 nights and we had a great time. The location is perfect, downtown, close to all the main attractions. It's a bit noisy but what isn't downtown? The staff was kind and helpfull and the breakfast was full of Argentinian specialties, maybe not ideal for some, but for those who want to taste the dulce de leche and pastries it's perfect. Not an option for those who seek luxury. But if you look for a nice&clean room, comfortable bed and a nice breakfast that's the place to stay.
