“Terrible, terrible service - and hiked our bill up at the last minute”

Nice enough place, clearly a lot of money being spent on it to refurb, but the management are terrible. They will try to over-charge you for everything. Specifically I've never experienced a hotel attempting to charge elevator repair costs to the guests who happened to be in the elevator when it broke. Also - dust everywhere in the hotel and they attempt to charge you because the towels get dirty

Amateurs.

“Big, comfortable rooms, Centrally located, Sketchy area, thugs at front desk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

I stayed at the Tribeca while working for a few days in Buenos Aires. The rooms are great. They are HUGE. And the value for money is excellent. The bed is large and comfortable. AC works great. Nice big TV. The breakfast is alright, not bad. I stayed here for three night for 70 USD per night plus tax, but then the last three nights they were going to charge me like 165 per night over the weekend, so I am switching to the Bobo Hotel in Palermo for less money, much nicer hotel and much better neighborhood although not as central.

The negatives of the hotel: the men at the front desk never smile, greet you, say thank you or anything of the sort. So don´t expect any warm fuzzy feeling at this hotel. The shower was nice but had a very bad showerhead. The neighborhood is very central but very sketchy at night. I recommend taking a taxi to and from the hotel after 7 pm. I´ve been in tough cities but this neighborhood is not recommendable for tourists walking around late at night.

“Large but noisy rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2011

The rooms are kingsize. The beds are also and the tv has english spoken films. Disadvantage is the thin doors between the rooms. They give the option to connect rooms. You can litterly hear every sigh or whisper, tv program or whatever a married couple does in the room next door.
The breakfast is good but as in all BA the coffee taste like chlorine.

“Central location, great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

Stayed her a few nights in december, found the hotel to be great value for money. Really loved the high ceiling wide rooms. Reception didnt know much english though when asked about stuff around BA, elevator was on and off as they were renovating at the time (Dec 10) but overall a pleasant stay for that $$ price braket.

“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2010

Location a big plus - close to the major attractions in Buenos Aires. Rooms are large. The flooring is wooden (not carpeted) so it felt a bit “dusty” and rugged. There is a mini-bar in the room with a substantial amount of items in it – including liquor. Advice to check every item. We had a bottle of water missing so we informed reception. The room service staff that came did not understand English so it took some time to “resolve” the issue. Our room was beside the breakfast room/area so it was a bit noisy in the morning. The room was not “soundproof”. Breakfast – good variety. There is a computer with free internet access located beside the gym. Our only issue: We had a leaking roof in the bathroom.
