“It had better days”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

The first time I stayed in this hotel was in 2008, when I spent 4 nights in Buenos Aires, and it was a very good experience. Last year, going to Brazil, I had to spend 1 night in Buenos Aires before heading to my final destination, so I decided to stay there again, and also booked another night on the way back, to rest and have a shower between the flights from Brazil to Australia. Unfortunately, it was a bit of disappointment this time. The location is good - it's in the city centre, close to everything - but it seems the hotel has not been refurbished or taken good care for a while. Apart from the lobby, all the rest is old and looks kind of abandoned. The room we stayed the first night was creepy, as are the corridors and the lift. Breakfast used to be better, but you still get good food.
When we returned for the second stay, we were upgraded to a better room on what they call "Club Las Naciones" - and this one was very nice: bigger, clean, comfortable, with a very nice and clean bathroom...it was a shame we could stay for just a few hours before heading to the airport.
The staff was helpful and friendly as always.
We still would recommend this hotel because of its location and price.

Room Tip: Club Las Naciones has better rooms

“Good hotel, so so location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2011

It was a big beautiful reformed bedroom, clean, on the 2nd floor, turned to main street. I thought it would be noisy, but it wasn´t. The breakfast was ok.
The room´s phone didn´t work and, even using the international calling card they wanted to charge the calls.
The location is 4 blocks from Florida Street, downtown (Microcentro), and at night and on sunday I felt very insecure. May backpack was opened by someone on Florida, but they didn´t take anything important.
If I have to go back to Buenos Aires I won´t stay in Microcentro anymore.

“Not worthy”

This Hotel were "sold" to us like a very well located and with an OK room and service.
The part of the location is right. It is at Av. Corrientes, one of the main avenues of Buenos Aires, very close to Florida st. But the real problem is the room. The bathtub was full of hair on the drain and we needed to clean it first in order to use it... disgusting. When going to sleep, removing the sheets more surprises, some bugs between the sheets and the mattress... Horrible.
I'll never stay on this hotel again.

“Old hotel, bad acomodations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2008

We stayed there on September, 2007 and its a very old hotel. A little bit dirty. It smells mould.
It´s in downtown, near everything but we do not recommend.

“Good value, decent accomodations, best location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2008

No hotel could be better located: 2 blocks away from Calle Florida, 3 from Av. Nueve de Julio. Large room with above-average beds and a wall-to-wall window with a spectacular view of the Obelisk. Large TV, countless cable channels. All staff members spoke good Portuguese (the hotel is overwhelmingly popular among Brazilians). Nice breakfast with good coffee and delicious facturas. Got a bill for a can of juice (from the minibar) we did not consume; reported the error to the front desk and the bill was immediately cancelled, no questions asked. Found a cockroach in the bathroom. Water temperature was a bit hard to control. The "business center" is just one (large, comfortable) room with one internet-enabled computer.
