“Being a part of the family”

Alicia and her charming husband Jorge took over Che Lulu about one and a half year ago and turned it into home.
The rooms are great and very well kept, but this is hardly the thing that make Che Lulu what it is. The atmosphere of the place is magical and everyone that works there will go out of their ways to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
The breakfast (which is included in the price) consists of different kinds of bread, teas, coffee, orange juice, cereal and a variety of cakes, pies and sweets, everything you need in order to start your day off well.
But that's not all, when you come back late afternoon there is a tea going on, so you can have that fabulous pie you were craving for since breakfast but was too full to have it then.
The kitchen there is always clean and organized and available for use by the guests. Jorge loves to cook and likes to keep it that way. He is an amazing chef and on the day I cooked there he was all for helping me out and give me great tips.
If you are going to Buenos Aires this is definitely the place to stay.

I booked in advance after seeing impressive pictures of rooms, and even though it's a bit pricy went ahead and booked 2 nights.
very disappointing rooms- extremely small (2x3 meters or close to it ), people there are nice enough but not worth the $ by ant mean!!!
out of 5 weeks in Argentina sleeping in different cities and hostels - this was the worst.

Room Tip: privet room in che lulu - not what it looks like!!!

“This place is terrible!!! Do not stay here!!!”

This was our worst experience in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, we had to stay one night (reservation was for three). Do not be fooled by the staff's insincere friendliness. The "room" was a closet sized utility room in the courtyard of a private residence. The room was FILTHY DIRTY, VERY SMALL, inadequate plumbing....sink looked like an animal trough...toilet was in miniscule closet that was also where the shower head stuck out of the wall (and it didn't work). The hot water was turned on only in the early morning. After the day out in the local area, we returned about 22:00. We had to ring a buzzer and then be escorted through their private dining area where about 8 people were eating dinner. They were clearly annoyed and we felt extremely uncomfortable. We left the next morning by 9:00 and could not get out of there fast enough!!!! Pay a little more....trust us...it is worth it!!!

“Good family run hostel, homelike atmosphere and nice deco”

During my trip in Argentina I stayed twice in this hostel. The staff (especially the family owners) are helpful and speak good English. All rooms are decorated with art of all kinds and daily there are fresh flowers in the common rooms. Fresh orange juice and and fresh media lunas for breakfast. Rooms are a bit small, but Value for money is ok. There is a turtle living in the internal courtyyard.

“should NOT be advertised as a hotel but a hostel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

would be mad if i booked this thinking it was a hotel as many couples who were staying there were. nice hostel, shared dorm is good but private rooms are tiny. we had to re-arrange the room to fit our bags in. private room dusty. decent breakfast(hostel standard), 2 showers but only1 works at a time and in mornings we had to wait for shower. excellent staff and nice common area.no party atmosphere though..none! also people smoking in common area
