This was my top hotel pick for my 21 days S. American tour out of eight hotels. Most of the hotels I stayed in were considered 4 stars, latin hotels and this was the only comparable hotel to the USA 4 stars standards. I had a huge, beautifully furnished contemporary suite and the hotel was not runned down or needing upgrades. What I have discovered by reading the hotel reviews is that there are different category of rooms and prices. Most of the time, the negative hotel reviews are from travelers that did not stay in the same category room (standard, deluxe, executive) as the ones with a more positive review. The only negative was the small and simple breakfast buffet offered. The reception staff was personable, helpful and answered all my questions.

I stayed at Reconquista Plaza twice with a group of 10 Canadian tourists in November 2009.At the end of my first stay I was asked to pay for a drink that I have not consumed and at the end of my second stay I was asked to pay 95 ARS for laundry cleaning that I have not asked for.Mistakes can be made but what is unacceptable if the receptionist looks straight in your eyes and lies saying that you brought down your dirty laundry for cleaning. A lady in the group was asked to pay for phone calls she did not make.
My conclusion is that the hotel management is actively participating to this racket so think twice before staying in this tourist trap.By the way this is a 3 star hotel not 4.

Great hotel, Great location, Great staff! After moving from their awful sister property we found this hotel offered just what we were looking for. Modestly price with helpful staff and a great location for shopping.

As per the title, the location is good and close to everything. The rooms are good, large and clean (as so a 4 star should be). Yes, as some other reviews mentioned, it is slightly on the worn side but this isn't western europe or the US either. The bathroom was more 2/3 star than 4 star. Shower had hot water all the time and pressure was good, so enough for me.

Breakfast is basic, but this is on par with breakfasts in most hotels in Argentina. You won't find eggs or bacon, unless it is really catering for the western tourist. This didn't bother me, i came to Argentina to experience Argentinian life and just eating fruit and light food after heavy steak dinners is advisable.

There is a basic gym & sauna also in the hotel. Staff at this hotel are also polite and friendly. One represented a poor touristy restaurant, but that was about as minor as it got.

The one only thing that really bothered me about this 4 star hotel was why I have to pay for Internet in the rooms. This is 2009 now and that is like charging to watch TV. It wasn't cheap either, about 6 euro a day! (in Argentina!). It really annoyed me as I was here for a few days and one day it didn't even work. Worst thing is, it would be deciding factor on whether I would stay there again or recommend it.
