“good service, but hotel is past its prime”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

Stayed here one night pre-departure to airport for home.

Pros: friendly, efficient service; clean; above average breakfast included.
Cons: dated and tired decor (when was the last decade you saw caramel-colored bath fixtures?); extremely small (10x10) rooms with just the bare essentials; wifi was 25 pesos a day; sleep was impossible in a street-fronting room, even on the 6th floor - extremely noisy). Had we been planning a longer stay, we would have left.

Would not return.

Rochester Classic has 5 different categories of rooms from standard to suite, they differ in size, amenities, location within the building and furniture. Wi fi service is enabled 24 hours throughout the building, both in public areas and rooms, like the rest of the establishments have a minimum daily cost of $ 25 (pesos argentinos). Rochester Classic has internal and external rooms, you must inform your preference when you request your booking

“Pleasant Rochester but seedy area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

Stayed here at the end of our South America tour arranged by Planet Cruise. Having docked early morning, we couldn't check iun until 2 p.m., which is totally understandable aned hotel looked after our luggage whilst we went out for an explore. Hotel is in slightly seedy street with two sex shops and a wonderful cake shop amongst other things. Short walk to Florida, the really busy shoppiong street. To be fair, the hotel is convenient for centrel BA, being a short walk from the obelisk and easy a good hike to the cathedral etc. When we finally did check in our room was clean and basic but the bathroom was poky with a dangerously wobbly (but very stylish) wash handbasin. There was a basic mini bar and airconditioning below the level of the curtain. View not very inspiring, being over the tops of corrugated iron roofs (from 7th floor). Breakfast great, bar welcoming and cheap internet access from freestanding units in bar. Good stay after initial worries about the district.

“Not Bad not Good either but I had no problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

Check in was a breeze, I mentioned that I have a reservation for a suite and if I could get a renovated room. I also mentioned that I have breakfast and Lunch included but the check in associated played dumb. he then mentioned that they will issue a voucher for my lunch.
The room was not bad at all, a living room with a sofa bed and a separate bedroom with a Queen bed(I think). I was facing the street but it did not bother me.
The bath tub had paint peeling off but that was ok as the bathroom in general was clean and looked new besides the tub.
The gym was a disaster, air conditioning not working and no remote in site. The lateral pull machine broken. The equipment is good if they had the air conditioning working at least and the outside temperature was 38 degrees Celcius.

Overall I had no problems, the breakfast was good as well. I still prefer the Recoleta area.

Now our gym is being remodeled, building alterations are being made as well as improvements in machinery, construction that will be finished on 03/20/2011. To use the half board service the passenger must present, when checking in, the voucher issued by his agency or the confirmation made by the RH Booking Central and he will be given a voucher per day to present at the Resto.

“great hotel dangerous area”

hotel and staff were excellent- was robbed and punched 1/2 block from hotel. Other guests had similar experiences. Hotel staff informed me that police wont help and it turned out to be correct. Police are present but will not respond to such issues. Just a word of caution on location and crime -hotel was great!

“better than the reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

I booked the hotel on-line and read the reviews on tripadvisor afterwards. That made me wonder if my choice was as bad as most reviews made me believe. Wrong. The hotel is actually very nice, clean, the room are regular, good bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is very central so you can reach my sights by foot and the area seemed safe enough at night. I sure do recommend this hotel.
