The marketing for this hotel is a little misleading, with its glossy photos. The reality is that the room was very small and the fittings were very much degraded. Everything including the lobby and lifts are in need of a major refit. The kitchenette was shabby, with very basic equipment, and the bathroom contained cracking porcelain and tumbling curtain rails. Our dining table was wobbly and was well past its retirement date.

Sound was a problem in the hotel, with paper thin walls between apartments. We could hear conversations quite clearly in the apartment adjoining ours, and television sounds were clearly audible.

Access to WiFi internet was slow, sporadically available and regularly cut out. Gmail and Facebook loaded very slowly, so it was best to access them outside of peak periods (early morning was best).

However, staff are extremely prompt and keen to help, and overall were friendly and responsive. The maid service was very good, and rooms were cleaned efficiently and well.

The hotel is in a great location for access to a broad range of shopping, as well as close to a Metro station for trips further afield. Weekends are quiet, with many shops closed, given that it is located in a business district. The area is much more lively during weekdays.

The hotel is good overall, the breakfast was fine and the lobby actually pretty new and stylish. The location is not bad either: just a 5 minutes walk to Calle Florida and its metro station. The problem is that the furniture is not as new as I'd like to. The room is spacious (the kitchenette is great!) but it lack personality. The bathroom is certainly the worst part: small and without windows, it gets super warm while you're showering and it stays humid for so long..Besides, the towels are washed with some sort of product that has an AWFUL smell. Really, I could barely use them, the smell was terrible. I think it has potential to become a nice hotel: it just needs some renovation, soon!

Situated in a building that could deserve a refurbishment this hotel was still a good experience. With the helpful staff the stay was pleasent. We had two rooms, one "small" and one "big". There was no big difference in size. From most of the rooms there are no view except in to a back yard and the neighbours window. For us this was no problem at all. The breakfast was OK with cheese, jam, ham, white and darker bread, croisants, coffe, tee, milk and juice. We got what we expected. We felt that the hotel price was a bit high, but probably it is the price level of the city. We would recomend the hotel to friends, but tell that this is not a new modern place.
We did not try out the gym or the pool that was in a neighbouring building.

Great location, staff very very friendly, great room. The only problem we saw in there was the air conditioning because it stopped working for 2 nights, from 8 that we stayed there. Oh yes, and the pool. It's not in the hotel, but 5 blocks away, in a club. They don't offer driving... But we recommmend Loi Suites Esmeralda, it's a very nice place!!!
