Where to begin....
I actually stayed here on a class trip in March 2008, but I am not able to select that option as it was prior to 2009. I was not a member of tripadvisor, but now that I am, I have not forgotten my stay at this hotel.. I am actually a bit surprised that my classmates have yet to post anything. I will keep this review quick and somewhat short.
1. The breakfast is not good at all. I only drank the coffee and stayed away from the meat and cheese.
2. The pictures on the website do not reflect the hotel. The pictures look great but the hotel, unless they have done major renevenations, is not...
3. I am normally allegic to mold and I had a bad reaction at this hotel. There is a musty smell.
4. The room doors are paper thin, so you know everything that is occuring in the room next to you.
5. The hotel is close to the main street in buenos Aires, but located in a dark alley.
6. I personally was robbed along with the rest of the hotel staff by thieves who walked right into the main lobby at 3 AM. My passport and money were stolen at gunpoint. They also went on to rob the hotel lock boxes. The hotel never offered us an apology. Instead of letting the police run their investigation for fingerprints, etc (all of the contents of the lock box were stolen), the hotel staff worried rather about cleaning up the mess so nobody could see it. A classmate of our was assaulted during the robbery and had to go to the hospital. His insurance had to cover the costs.
I am generally very easygoing and not very demanding, but this hotel definitely left me a lasting impression...
