“Indifferent rooms and awful restaurant service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

We had not planned to stay here. Andes Lineas Aereas booked us, after cancelling their flight from Iguazu to Salta – taking us instead to overnight in Buenos Aires, and then making us wait all day at the airport for a flight to Salta.

(The best we can say about Andes Airlines is that you will be better off taking a bus or even hitchhiking than using on their services – the rumour was that their pilot took the day off to fly for another airline for better pay – who knows it could even be true).

We had an indifferent room on an upper floor looking on to the backs of other not very attractive buildings.

The restaurant service was worse than indifferent – we sent a plate of vegetables back to the kitchen as inedible.

“Terrible experience: conclusion: Bribe = 5 stars”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2011

We stayed here because our airline which messed up its bookings put us here. There was really nothing redeeming about this Hotel. It is barely a two star hotel, let alone a five star hotel!

The staff generally didn't care.

The rooms were completely outdated, although after much back and forth with the staff we did find a floor of the hotel that was renovated sometime in the last decade or two. Many of the floors look like they pre-date the 70's?

The dinner was terrible. Worse than some canteens I have eaten in.
The breakfast was buffet style but actually quite nice.

“Good service, stinky room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

This was booked for my buddy and I by an agency as a three to four stars hotel. The service was great with the evening shift (they allowed us to drop some of our luggage off for a couple of days before our upcoming stay with them), and very unfriendly with the morning shift on departure. The room was run down and stunk of old cigarette. There are much better choices at the same price.

“great option”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

when i read the coments i swear i got afraid. stayed in this hotel for 5 days with wife, 3 kids( room 2), parents and a brother with his wife and a little kid and there were any problem. a great hotel with a great location( 2 blocks of the metro, and in main street of buenos aires), polite staff and great breakfast. the room was perfect for me. if i wanted to stay in a hotel room all day long i would go to a resort or something like that. the only negative thing is that when flushing in beside room you can hear. but for me, it wasnt a problem. i swear, the hotel was full and i rarely heard the flushing of the room beside.
and when i read the coments i dont want to know if the color of the left corner of the carpet is faded. i take in note if the area is good, safe, close metro, the staff, and if they treat good the hosts and any problems related with the hotel.
i finally will stay there again, for sure.

“Location good, rooms not so good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

My firm put me here as I arrived Sunday morning so I wanted to be located in an area where I could have a wander around and the location was pretty good. Positives were of course the location, the bed was very comfortable, the rooms were clean, average gym. reception were helpful when I asked them to book me a taxi every day and the breakfast and dinner was quite good. The negatives were that the rooms were a little noisy (and I was on 16th floor!), the broadband didn't work ,but the worst part was as others have mentioned is that the air con didn't work (I did ask for someone to take a look, they never did). I ended up getting the cleaning lady to take the child lock off the window so it could open wide (she told me not to jump, I obvioulsy didn't look too happy!). Overall, if you are a tourist in winter it might be good, but for business I wouldn't recommend it, mainly due to broadband access (but it worked fine in the bar!). I paid 110 USD per night
