We really liked the personnel at Sarmiento, so friendly and helpful, but the location is seedy. Fortunately there is a security guard at the door at all hours. We did not find any decent restaurants or shopping nearby (Florida Street is a huge disappointment). The breakfast was mediocre (stale breads and limited selection) and the dining area is very cramped. One morning it was too full to use so the staff brought the breakfast to our room on trays--another plus for the wonderful staff. The rooms facing the street were very noisy, even those with double pane windows. The rooms were clean if you didn't look closely at the AC vents or the curtains. The hotel definitely needs refurbishing, broken lamps and old appliances, especially AC systems need replacement.
