“Overpriced for what they offer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed here twice, at either end of a trip to the Antarctic. The rooms were great - spacious, clean, excellent showers, nice views (we looked over the garden one time, then the river the next). But the service was lackadaisical - no porter leapt forward to help us with our luggage at any point, breakfast staff were slow on the uptake, gym reception simply absent, main reception was pretty slow. We even got a wake up call - at 5am - that we had not booked!!!

Our early morning breakfast during our first stay (a group of 40+ people needing to catch a 7.30 flight meant feeding us at 5.30) was a farce - many people ended up not eating anything or not much as the rep rushed us all off - even though the hotel simply wasn't ready or geared top to feed us all in time. Breakfast during our second stay was more leisurely and the food was good, although not top notch, we would have expected more had we not already experienced the first mess.

The pool and sauna were lovely, and the garden was delightful. However, the lack of free wifi was a pain and surely not necessary in this day and age when even the cheapest hostel provides it?! We went to Starbucks along the road (opposite the Sheraton...).

So - we would not stay here again. Indeed we would not have stayed here at all if it had not been part of the package. You can get much better value for money elsewhere.

“3 nights in BA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The hotel was clean and bright, breakfasts OK, terrace was very pleasant. The lack of free wifi was a pain, but I got round the cost of water by filling my bottle from the water urn in the dining room. Our group had an excellent steak dinner in the dining room, but I had a disappointing and seriously overpriced lunch. It was in a convenient location, and I enjoyed looking out of the window where I could see almost every form of transport known to mankind, but not hear it, thank goodness! We had some trouble getting the safe to work, but eventually managed it, though I never got the coffee maker to work properly. No great loss.

“A good bet in Buenos Aires”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

This hotel offers location, service, and a quality facility. The rooms are very large and comfortable, and the shower is superb, especially after a long day out and about the city. Rooms facing the European style garden are very quiet. The breakfast buffet is substantial and the lobby bar is a nice place to relax for a pre-dinner drink.

On the edge of a residential area, you are out of the hustle and noise of shoppers and tour groups, but an easy walk or short taxi ride to all the major sites. Some excellent Italian restaurants are a block and a half walk, and an upscale shopping mall with food court, Starbucks and restaurants is about 2 blocks away.

Room Tip: Choose a garden facing room for a quiet night.

“Great Hotel for Business in BA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I am now using this hotel on my trips to BA and find it excellent and I prefer it to the Sheraton. The rooms are excellent with great views and black outs if you need them. I would recommend this hotel to anybody

The location is good for the centre and service is fine - breakfast is excellent also

Some people call it pricey but they at all in a similar price range for this quality of hotel - for sure you can get cheaper but in my experience you end up with some noisy hotel in a less convenient area.

“Beautiful Hotel, Close to Florida St”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed here 2 nights as part of our cruise package to Antarctica. The hotel was gorgeous, the gardens and wall-waterfalls in the back were beautiful. The rooms had twin beds, but were large, bathrooms were huge, with rainfall-showers, all amenities. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Buffet at breakfast was good, large selection. Wasn't sure what to expect as previous reviews weren't complimentary, but we had no problems and we had 3 rooms (6 travellers). Pool was large, elevators very fast, no problems.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking back gardens
