“Wonderful hotel - very elegant and relaxing”

This was our second stay at the Shearton Park Tower. It was every bit as nice as the first time. We had a wonderful upgraded room with butler service. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great. The cocktail hour munchies were very good and the wine was excellent. I can't say enough about the service -very accomodating and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: ask for an upgrade to butler floor

“Fantastic Luxury Hotel Centrally Located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Just returned from a one week stay at the Park Tower Buenos Aires for pleasure. Upgraded to a corner suite which was worth every penny. Three huge windows (one in bedroom, two in living room) with fantastic views of the water, a beatiful square and the train station. Stayed on 17th floor so no obstructions. Park Tower is connected to the extraordinarily noisy, busy Sheraton Convention Center. This property is a quiet, civilized alternative to staying at the Sheraton. Butler service is available 24 hours a day and responds immediately to any needs. The corner suite has two bathrooms, a huge living room with flat screen tv, dvd player and music station. The bedroom is quite spacious with a flat screen television and seating area. The king size bed is extraordinarily comfortable. The master bathroom has only one sink, jacuzzi tub, large shower and separate water closet with bidet. There are two separate closets with plenty of space as well as a large dresser. Maid service is exceptional with turn down service.
Inez, the guest relations supervisor will make any mishaps, no matter how small, rectified with a smile and true concern.
The property is a $5 taxi ride to every neighborhood. The new waterfront properties and restaurants are in a very expensive area which we frequented often for dinners (El Mirasol, Cabaya Las Lilas, Sottovoce Madero). There are several restaurants within walking distance to the Park Tower which are good. Gustavo and Augustina are the best concierges on property. Be sure to deal with them directly both before you arrive via email and on property. You will not be misguided.
We took a double decker tour bus (hop on/off) our first day since we arrived at 8 am after an overnight flight. You get an overview of all the neighborhoods with a guided audio tour. The stop is at the square right across the street from the Park Tower. In total it is a 3 hour tour depending on how often you get off. We took a private 4 hour tour the following day, using Cultura Cercana. Our guide, Francisco is a 26 year old sociologist offering us an insiders look at Buenos Aires. We highly recommend this company. www.culturalcercana.com. For a four hour tour the cost is $110 US. He recommeded an Italian restaurant in San Telmo after touring that neighborhood which was excellent, Amici Miei. (Amici Miet; Defensa 1072). It's upstairs and you will only see a door way with an Italian flag so don't walk by it! After lunch we fell upon an area with local artisans from BA. The shops are right down the stairs from the restaurant. We loved Local 10 and Local 6 for sculptures. Each little shop has a number on it (local #).
You will not be disappointed in the Park Tower. Every person from the front desk, concierge, butler, maid service, restaurant staff(breakfast buffet on second floor) are all friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again, if we ever find ourselves in BA again. We took a day trip to Colonia, which the concierge helped make arrangements for us and an overnight trip to Iguazu Falls, which the travel agent in the Sheraton made for us) (see other reviews).

Room Tip: Corner suite a huge plus. High floor for great views.

“A gracious oasis, well located for a city on the move”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This is a worthy member of Starwood's Luxury Collection, a quiet and gracious oasis in a busy, very noisy city. Some will tell you that the Park Tower is too far from Recoleta. If you're a New Yorker, used to walking, it's just twenty minutes away, which is practically next door. And what IS next door is the beautifully gentrified old port, Puerto Madero, with its sixteen warehouses in a row turned into high end restaurants and shops, the Calatrava footbridge, a couple of very interesting old sailing ships, a private art museum, a soon to be St. Regis, etc. This is the new, happening spot, utterly safe and soigne. So the location of the Park Tower is perfect, giving easy access to the new luxury and the old of Buenos Aires. Frankly, we walked most of the time, to the Bellas Artes, the Recoleta, the Casa Rosada, the Evita Museum, the Congresso, etc. Perfectly safe city, so long as you're not careless with bling, and look down pretty frequently at the sidewalks, which are a far greater threat to your health than the populace.

We were upgraded to a suite for some reason--always a nice surprise, especially when it's got multiple bathrooms and 1,000 sq. ft. to lounge around in. But I suspect even the regular rooms were pretty spacious from the floor plan I examined. The free breakfast was sumptuous and grand, concierge and general service were exceptional, air conditioning worked perfectly. Couldn't have been more pleased.

Room Tip: Be a member of Starwood Preferred. Can't think of any other reason why I got a suite.

“Don't Get the Other Side”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

The Park Tower, our second stay, is very nice. Large clean rooms, good service, great conceierge, nice location near the inlet and restaurants. A great disappointment was it's "free" 5-7 PM Tower drinks and munchies service. It was located too near the restaurant, too small, and selections were poor compared to other Tower hotels I have stayed at.
One very important note: the Tower rooms are connected to the Sheraton, easily accessed by hallway doors. The Sheraton seemed to be the opposite of the Tower side: way too crowded, way too noisy, way too busy to answer questions (such as how do I get to the outdoor pool?)
Worse of all, while the Tower side was completely quiet, when I opened the door to the Sheraton side I was bombarded by the noises of drilling and jack hammers. Obviously work was being done, and I could not believe that people were given rooms on this floor (20) and above or below it. So, make sure you go for a Tower room, more expensive, or don't stay here if you can only get the Sheraton side.

Room Tip: Book with Starwood points and then upgrade to a suite for very few dollars more.

“Better for business than pleasure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

The hotel lobby is stylish and lives up to a 5 star rating - but the rooms and other amenities are not what you would expect for a Luxury Collection 5 star hotel. The location is somewhat convenient - but lacks atmosphere being on the edge of the central district and adjacent to the Sheraton Convention Centre. Some of the staff were helpful, whilst others lacked customer focus. The breakfast buffet was plentiful.
Overall a mixed experience.
