Due to a cancelled flight, Aerolineas Argentina booked our family into Hotel Republica for one night. Aerolineas had listed our five names but somehow written accommodation and meals for four people. We could not get in touch with Aerolineas and Hotel Republica refused to provide an extra bed and meals, forcing one of us to sleep on the floor. The reception was generally unfriendly. The rooms were two star and the street noise very loud all night. The restaurant was truly appalling. We were only offered a limited menu and we literally couldn't cut the meat it was so tough.

As a business traveler I need a good bed, clean room, shower, breakfast. and WiFi connection. Well, the bed had a hole in the middle, the room was one of the smallest I've seen in a "superior" quality hotel. It was clean, the shower OK and the continental breakfast according the standards. The WiFi signal was perfect. No room service.

Positive aspects - Near downtown and across from the Obelisco
Negative aspects - Very dirty room and bathroom, very noisy during the day (it was being rebuilt), the air conditioner wasn't working and we weren't informed in advance, the employees weren't helpful.

Me and my friend were travelling for 2 months and we were looking for a nice hotel to spend out last 3 nights in so we could relax before going home. We found the hotel on the internet and saw that there were rooms available, since we were already in Buenos Aires we decided to make the reservation in the hotel lobby, when we were there they didnt even bother to check their computers but they said very rudely that there was nothing available, when we said that the internet said the oposite they didnt even look at us and they sent us away. We dont know why they did this, maybe because we didnt look fancy enough. If you want to be welcomed in a friendly and warm way, do not choose this hotel.
