OK people. I've read the reviews here and I'm gonna add another because we just returned from B.A. and stayed 4 nights at Hotel Plaza Francia in a standard room. We didn't pay extra for a room on the front of the hotel which would have a really great view if you are high enough up. And there are suite rooms on the front of the hotel that looked really nice. One of these rooms had its door open one morning and I peeked in. It was really nice. We stayed in a standard room with no view. But who cares? We slept there and the hotel was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The furniture is older but again who cares? The TV wasn't a nice flat panel like at home but it had several English language channels on it. But if you care about having new furniture, flat screen TV, huge room, luxurious bathroom, you need to go around the corner to the Caesar Park Hotel for about $400/night. You will LOVE that hotel. But we weren't going to pay $400/night. Instead, we paid under $100 a night for a clean room in a nice little boutique hotel in the perfect location in Recoleta. The hotel is about 10 or 12 stories high but only about 25 feet wide on the front. So that's what you get. A tiny front lobby, tiny front sitting area, tiny breakfast area. But the front desk people spoke English and were able to answer every question we had. A younger guy there was very cool and gave us good advice. We gave him a big tip when we left. The breakfast is much like all breakfasts at the small hotels. It's fruit, toast, yogurt, cheese, scrambled eggs, croissants, cereal and really good coffee. Again, if you want a fancy schmancy breakfast, go around the corner to the Caesar Park Hotel or to the Alvear Palace Hotel. You can get a spacious fancy room at Alvear Palace (it's an amazing place) for $600/night. So everyone complaining on here about this hotel really needs to get a life and realize that you aren't paying for the Alvear Palace or Caesar Park. If you get the cheap room at Hotel Plaza Francia, give it a shot and see if they will upgrade you for free. They might b/c the front desk guys were pretty nice. We didn't even ask though. But still, might as well ask them. The only thing that was difficult in this hotel is that they have both a toilet and a bidet in the bathroom. This made the bathroom extremely cramped. So cramped that you had to wedge yourself between the sink and the toilet in order to sit down on the toilet. The toilet was so close to the sink that you could put your head on the sink and take a nap while sitting on the toilet. I guess that could come in handy at times. I don't know if all the bathrooms are like that, but ours sure was. But again, we didn't live in our room. We had much too much to do and see. We would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat because the area is super safe and soooooo convenient to alot of things. Be ready to walk alot because this is a walking city. We probably walked 30 miles in 4 days.
