We stayed at Fierro on three separate occasions during our recent tour of Argentina.
It's a great hotel with spacious, airy and trendy rooms in a convenient, quiet part of the city.
Service was great - reception exceptionally helpful.
And the tasting menu in the Hernan Gipponi restaurant offers really high quality food for a steal when compared with equivalents in other major cities.
Highly recommended.
Wonderful hotel and location for a trip to Buenos Aires. Great access to the neighborhood shops and restaurants as well as a short trip to the Metro. Very relaxing spot. We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful, spacious room with a large balcony. The rooftop pool was also a nice spot to relax and take in the views of Palermo. Excellent breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was also great, although 1 night there was enough. Would definitely stay again!
Following our 2 week trip to Patagonia, I was looking forward to our final night in BA with a stay at the Fierro. It lived up to our expectations...in fact, exceeded them, and I wish it had been a longer stay. (Our trip started with 2 nights in BA at the Art Hotel, which I've written a separate review for.)
Our room at the Fierro (superior, which is the lowest priced room) was spacious, nicely decorated, quiet, extremely comfortable mattress (king bed) with quality linens, large & nicely outfitted bathroom with luxurious towels, and the room had a small balcony (step out only with no balcony furniture) with a great view of their beautiful tropical garden in the back. Breakfast (which is included & served to your table as opposed to buffet style) had a nice assortment of pastries, cereal, fruit, juice, eggs, ham. The dining room also overlooks the garden (you could eat outside, but it was hot & humid when we were there.)
Hotel service was top notch .. a special thank you to Nicholas for his friendliness and interest in making sure that we had what we needed. Really appreciated the late checkout as we were flying out early evening.
The neighbourhood (Palermo Hollywood) is good ... seems to be an evolving one, and a safe one. We preferred Recoleta for convenience, but felt that staying at the Fierro made it worth the trade off in neighbourhoods. It was about a 15 minute walk to Paleromo Viejo and about 20 minutes from the area where the zoo & Evita Museum are. (Taking a taxi to the Evita Museum cost 20 pesos).
There were rotating electrical black-outs during our stay due to the high temps, but Fierro has a generator which kept the power on (the rest of the neighbourhood around us was in darkness that evening.)
Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay at the Fierro Hotel. This is a small boutique hotel that is in a very convenient Palermo location...nearby restaurants and metro. While the lobby is small, the rooms are very large with everything you could want. Great linens, very comforable bed and sitting area. But the best part of the hotel is the accomodating staff; they were always very anxious to do anything we needed from booking restaurants and tours, to suggesting best places to walk. Just their friendly and accessible demeanor made us feel extremely comfortable. A special shout-out to Nicholas at the front desk who just couldn't do enough for us.
We got to the hotel early in the morning and we were offered coffee immediately, and were able to get into our room right away. And as amazing as it may seem, they allowed us to have a late checkout without a problem...and without a charge!
The restaurant at the hotel is first class; the breakfasts were great, and the tasting menu dinner was magnificent. If you love food, you should definitely try it!
