“fashionable style, good deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2011

once you discover this stylish hotel, you may realize it makes little sense to look for budget options in Buenos Aires - because this is a 4-star quality for just a few bucks more (true, this may depend on your definition of "budget"; so to make it clear - the deal for a double room in Dazzler was around 50e/night and i did not hesitate to stay three nights in total).

the staff spoke fluent English (not that common in Argentina) and was helpful at all times - night (when the magnetic key refused to cooperate with the door after a return from a typical night out in BA) and day (room cleaned in the late afternoon, virtually minutes after the "do not disturb sign" was removed from the door).

the bathroom was enormous and the room's contemporary furnishing reminded me the style of the Crowne Plaza chain, which i happen to like a lot. the location is not completely central - but there are plenty of bus lines and underground station nearby, so this definitely is not a problem.

in a two words: very satisfied.

“Nice and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2010

I enjoyed this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. As most part of hotels is B Aires the rooms are small, but definitely in a good shape. What I dislike is the fact that is not near to any subway station.

“Best service ever!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2010

We chose the Ilios because we love the location. It's in a residential area, but still close to the Santa Fe avenue shops and the Alto Palermo Mall. Many coffee shops and good restaurants within walking distance. Their service is the best: they pay attetion to everything you ask and try to help you all the time. POlite without being intrusive. The worst part of the hotel are the rooms: they are small and not soundproofed, however the bathroom is modern. Buffet breakfast is ok: media-lunas, cakes, bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, cereal, yogurt, fruit and juice. Despite the room size, I would stay here again because of their impeccable service.

“Very nice, well-located hotel with SUPERB service ! Go there !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

Probably the most friendly staff I ever had in a hotel / loacted in a nice and not croweded livinga-area (this is real B.A.), only 10 minutes walk from cementary / clean room with fridge and excellent WiFi / Airport-Service-taxi for only 100 Pesos / I fully recommend this hotel !! You will NOT be disappointed ! Go there!

Had a single room, which was not too big - but sufficent, don't worry / in some hotels you have better choice at the breakfast, but nevertheless: it was very good ! / Gym is availbale, but 3 blocks away (I did not have a look at it)

“Sleek Decor, Terrific Location, Not Enough Outlets”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2009

Black walls, what a bold choice! The Blue Tree has an Asian themed design throughout the hotel. Clean lines, black and white monochrome color scheme. The room had a nice size and black walls. Flat screen TV, and we got a big kick out of the "Teachings of the Buddha" on the nightstand. They really went all the way with the Asian theme! The noise from the street was a bit loud, but Buenos Aires is a bit noisy, so that's to be expected. They had turn-down service, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The bed linens were higher quality than I expected. Very soft. The elevators are small, but the hotel staff will take your luggage up and down for you. There's no pool, but that's okay. There is so much to do in B.A., you won't find the time to swim. The only issue I had with the room was the lack of space for my toiletries and electrical outlets. The only outlet in the bathroom is the one for the hotel's hair dryer. The other one is by the bedside nowhere near a mirror. We only ate at the restaurant for breakfast, which was very good. They had cereal, meats, breads, cheeses, etc. The location is terrific. Recoleta is a very posh neighborhood. If you sit long enough in one spot, you'll see dozens of paseoperros (dog walkers) pass by. The hotel is just off the main avenida, so taxis are easy to hail in any direction. Taxis are cheap, and the hotel is close to all the action without being in the middle of it (where it's really noisy). The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and shops. The staff was very helpful in recommending a restaurant, a neighborhood parrilla frequented by locals and very delicious. Overall, the hotel is great. We only have minor complaints like the electrical outlet situation. The Blue Tree is a terrific hotel which both my husband and I recommend.
