“Would give them 10 stars if I could!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I cannot overstate how great Abode Buenos Aires is! My mother and I stayed there for a total of seven nights -- one on our way to Ushuaia and six on the way back. Zoe and David were just the perfect hosts, particularly if you speak very little (or no) Spanish. They were able to give us advice on how to get around to the places we wanted to see during the day, such as the Teatre Colon, Recoleta Cemetary and La Boca. At night, they always found something totally unique for us to do, such as rooftop tango on their beautiful terrace, a local festival or wine tasting. The breakfasts were fantastic -- typically an English breakfast with delicious fresh homemade orange juice. Our last night David did a rooftop barbecue for all the guests -- it was tremendous! The rooms were also outstanding -- we had the Red Room, which had two separate rooms (living room plus bedroom) and a bath. It was like an upscale apartment! All in all, in my opinion, you will not find better value anywhere in than Abode Buenos Aires. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Choose the Red Room -- it's like an upscale apartment!

“oasis in B.A”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Thanks particularly to David for making our stay in B.A so memorable and special. With the benefit of David's knowledge and friendships, we were able to experience a magical evening in the company of two esteemed tango dancers! Beautiful house, rooms, and veranda area for sitting with a quilmes and chilling, absorbing the sounds and smells of this wonderful city. highly recommended.

“Wonderful B and B in Buenos Aires”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My son and I had a most memorable experience staying at Abode, in Buenos Aires. David and Zoe, the owners, really went the extra mile for us . The rooftop terrace was so restful and the full English breakfast fantastic. I can't say enough about the hospitality of our hosts. They gave us so many great suggestions, from roof top tango lessons to wine tasting to some of the " off the beaten track" things to do. And I haven't even mentioned the fresh squeezed orange juice available at any time. They were also very helpful in getting us to and from the airport and calling us a trusted cab driver when necessary. I highly recommend this wonderful B and B! Oh yes - they had a birthday cake and fireworks for my 78th birthday while there - I will always remember where I was on that birthday!Kathryn Johnston

“A Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Wonderful British couple who run the B&B. Were exceptionally helpful before, during and after our stay (we had to arrange a private transfer while in BA after staying with them, and they happily had the taxi they usually use pick us up and drop us off). Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, quick and free WiFi, beautiful patio on the top deck with coffee & tea available all-day long (free), along with a fridge full of very reasonably priced wines and beers. Only four rooms so try book well in advance, but the place is in a fantastic neighborhood and it's worth every penny. They told us in passing that the majority of their business is either repeat customer or word-of-mouth, and it didn't surprise us in the slightest -- if we were to return to BA again we too would head right back. Excellent all-around.

“Best hospitality of our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This B&B is run by a lovely English couple who have been living in Buenos Aires for over 5 years.

The location in Palermo is great (the nearby shopping / restaurant area reminds me of London's notting hill or New York's Soho) People had recommended Palermo Soho to us as a place to stay but most accommodation here was out of our budget. Abode offers a homely B&B with an affordable price tag in a location otherwise reserved for upmarket hotels. One warning though: it's easy to spend the money you save in the boutiques and designer shops a few streets away!!

The rooms here are clean and are decorated with character and antique furniture. We stayed in the blue room (US$100 per night in Jan '12) which had a private bathroom just outside the room. We did get a peak at the Green Room next door though which was really pretty and had a lovely new ensuite - very smart! So it maybe worth paying the extra money for that room for a couple.

The main thing to mention about Abode though and what made it stand out for us was David and Zoe's amazing hospitality. These people really care about their guests and David went more than the extra mile to look after us. The atmosphere as a result is warm and welcoming, which counts for a lot when you are staying for a few nights or more.

I recommend the tango lesson on the rooftop they organized for us - great fun!

Other things to mention: great breakfast - scrambled eggs and bacon, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, yogurt and freshly sliced melon every morning!

Oh and the rooftop garden is all pretty lit up at night - great place to enjoy a bottle of their wine (selected by a local sommelier - the Amalaya from Salta was my fave!)

Overall I would recommend to any English speaking traveller looking for a reasonable priced place to stay in lovely Palermo!
