“Huge Room, Mediocre Location, Poor Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

The room itself is huge, and clean. I definitely liked the room, which was the redeeming quality about my stay.

I stayed at this hotel based on recommendations of others here at Trip Advisor that the staff were very helpful. In fact, they were absolutely the opposite. I had to move rooms halfway through my four day stay because they wouldn't fix my A/C, though they told me time and again that they would (which is super annoying, instead of just moving me in the first place). Also, the staff would wake me up to ask when I was going to check out, when I wasn't set to check out until days later. This was very annoying.

The location (between Palermo and Recoleta) is in a dead spot. There's nowhere good to eat or shop near the hotel, so you have to cab it everywhere. The Alto Palermo mall is overpriced, doesn't have a good food court and they're all the same brands you would find in any western big city. If you want a hotel with a great location to food, shopping and nightlife - this isn't it. If you want friendly staff and a pleasant stay, this also isn't it. If you want a big room for a decent value and don't care about the rest, this is a good option - and that's the truth about Dazzler Suites Juncal Apart-Hotel.

“Stop searching....This is the place you want!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2011

We stayed for 14 nights. After seeing Dazzler on Trip Advisor, it was one of those "too good to be true" places. But, after we kept pinching ourselves, we realized we WERN'T dreaming! The lobby was tiny but sparkling with MORE than friendly staff. Helpfull? Oh ya, ridiculously helpfull. So helpfull, that I was constantly asking if they needed lunch or anything from the small supermarket directly across the street which I felt obliged to offer SOMETHING. They were so helpfull with everything from directions, to making reservations, to info on a trip to Uruguay, info on public transit, I felt like I owed them something! So up the elevator you go, accessed by your electronic room key then you step out and in the room you go. Next, your jaw drops to the ground as you are in the kitchen wich is modern, clean, smart looking design, FULLY equipped. Flat top 2 burner stove, kettle, dishes, pots pans, cutlery, drinkware...no coffee maker so we just bought instant and cream across the street. One problem: the fridge kept our leftovers and beverages cool at best) The washroom. 4 piece including a biday which I tested and soaked the ceiling. One problem: we found on occasion, the water pressure would die while in the shower.....just turn it off and on again, this will fix it. This happened twice in 2 weeks. The living area was large enough for 2 people with room to spare, nice designer chairs, long desk for your laptop (yes, internet works well enough), a king sized bed with lots of pillows (even a leg pillow) and comfotable??? OH YA, the most comfortable bed we've ever slep on while vacationing (and we go away 3 times/year). Nice average sized wall mounted flat screen t.v. with about 90 channels (10 english lol) HUGE sliding door onto the balcony which was also fine although the trees on the street will block much of the view as B.A. is FULL of 100 year old trees lining the streets. (we stayed on the 3rd. floor) I imagine staying on the 4th. through the 9th. floor will improve your view. Air conditioning was tip top (of course). Through experiment, you will eventually figure out the remote for the a/c! The whole place is beautiful hardwood flooring. Electronic safe, closet, drawers etc. Theres a restaurant right next door with free breakfast. I ONLY eat breakfast on vacation so to me, it was great. Pastries, fruit salad, ham, cheese, cereal, yoghurts, awesome coffee. Just perfect light breakfast to give your body what it needs for the walk, dont worry, you will feast later at the multitude of cafes and restaurants along the way!

You are walking distance to EVERYTHING. We walked an average of 10km/day however, if you want, the busses and subway are walking distance and costs about 30 cents. YES I said 30 cents. You can buy a single OR multiple trip subway card at the subway located on Sante Fe. (this will be your homebase for nearby shopping and public transportation). The front desk will give you a map of B.A. and this will be your best friend, keep it in your back pocket always. There are cafe's EVERYWHERE and reataurants are plentiful and delicious. If you like beer, try the Quillmes (pronounced killmez) 1 liter= $1.00 in the supermarkets, $4.00 in the cafes. Most food costs half price compared to Canadian prices. San Telmo on a Sunday is a must do. Outdoor markets galore. THIS is where you will bargain and purchase gifts for your friends and family. You will buy a cool baseball cap, and find it 25% cheaper 10 meters away, so you can walk the WHOLE walk before you buy anything. If you've ever been to 5th. ave. in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico....San Telmo is 5th. ave X5!

La Boca, another must do for the couples at least. Walk to Sante Fe and catch the bus and it will take you to the end of the line which is the place to be for tango dancing while enjoying a cold one and a meal on the cobblestone lanes. La Boca stadium is there where the Boca juniors play on Saturdays (considerd to be one of the best soccer teams in the world) We went during the day, and was told not to be in La Boca after sunset.

After extensive research on B.A. it was assumed that danger lurks nearby at all times, pickpockets, muggings, knives, guns etc. We had lunch one day and watched all the people walk buy and 9 of every 10 people wore NO jewelry or watches! I purchased in Toronto before I went to B.A. and pocket sized dog repellent which is the same as mace. I carried this with me EVERYWHERE I went. I never had to use it nor did I see ANY degree of violence in the entire 14 days. We even enjoyed our "romantic dinner" in Hollywood Palermo on our last night and walked home (40 minutes) at 1am. and still no problems.

There is NO swimming or beach days in B.A. you must travel 400km. south OR, and I recommend a trip to Uruguay. The "day trip with city tour is not really worth the money, however, a one or two nighter in Montivideo is recommended. THAT is where the beaches are. One hour ferry ride to Colonia, which is beautiful whith beaches and 400 year old cobblestone roads and buildinds. From there it is a 3 hour bus ride to Montivideo if you want to do the overnighter.

Cross the street with caution. If there are no traffic lights, then it will be a 4 way intersection without stop signs...every man for himself! DO NOT rent a car in B.A. you wont need it anyways. B.A. is ranked #1 in the world for auto accidents! (Wikipedia)

Ricoletta is a 15-20 minute walk away with shops, cafes and restaurants and the famous Ricoletta Cemetary. Must do! We went there 4 times.

When you come out of the lobby onto the street, go left for one minute and there is a laundromat. Drop your cloths off and come back after dinner and your cloths are clean, folded and ready to put into your drawer. 3 days of clothing for 2 people costed us $5.00

Go to Centro. The most amazing buildings, parks, statues, 9 de Julio, Florida street, this is 5 or 6 stops on the subway from your hotel. Always get your leftovers from the restaurant and give it to the homeless if your not planning to go right home to your fridge. There are alot of homeless people including kids and moms with children...even babies. Sad, but a way of life there. NONE of my leftovers at the cafes etc. went to the garbage. EVERY scrap of food went out the door with me.

Do you speak english only? Good luck with that!

email me at seansleafs@hotmail.com if you want to know anything as I could write a book on B.A. Perhaps the best trip I've ever taken!

“Good Hotel - Good Location - Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2010

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in Nov. 2010 and would recommend it to friends and family! Our room was huge and the bed was a comfortable CA King. The WiFi was reliable and went it went out the hotel staff quickly restarted the router on our floor (there is one router per floor). The breakfast included is served at the cafe next door and was good (typical pastries, cereal, fruit). The staff was very friendly and was always willing to call restaurants for us to make reservations, or call ahead to check the dress code, availability, etc...

Location of hotel in between Palermo and Recoleta was perfect because you could easily walk to restaurants and shops in both areas. Also located 3 blocks from 2 Green Line Subway stops, it was very easy (and cheap) to get downtown. It was also very easy to hail a radio taxi from the street.

“Absolutely great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

Before you book this hotel make sure what your priorities for your visit are. This is a great choice if you want to visit Buenos Aires and discover your surroundings on foot. From this hotel you find excellent shopping and dinning options and if you jog there is the Las Heras park to do so. The rooms are big, comfortable and modern. There are only two apartments per floor but the walls are apparently very thin. As we entered our room we could hear loud children noises coming from the neighboring room. We called reception and were informed that the family next to us was checking out that day, so I guess we got lucky. The bathrooms are ok, small but very clean. The biggest minus point in our room was that the air conditioning device was built on the wall directly opposite from the bed, with the result that we experienced a cold wind in our faces the whole night long. To open the balcony doors was not an option given the traffic noises in the region. Next day we were informed at the reception desk that all apartments are built that way (don't be fooled by pictures shown in their website), so regrettably this was our last and only visit to this hotel, in spite of its wonderful location and nice atmosphere.

“Good hotel, good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

The rooms are large and well-furnished without being cramped. All have large glass doors that open onto balconies. There is plenty of storage space, a huge bed and several chairs. There is a kitchenette with two burners and a 'fridge. The bathroom has a shower in the bath. The suites are cleaned every day. Breakfast is included in the price and can be taken at the restaurant situated next door to the hotel. The location is excellent (corner Juncal and Billinghurst), with a supermarket across the street, lots of shops and restaurants nearby and the Alto Palermo Mall only a few blocks away. The staff are very polite and attentive. Only two criticisms: the rooms have internet connections but you have to bring your own laptop. Because of its location in the middle of town, the lower floors get all of the street noise. The upper floors would be quieter.
