“Great little gem tucked away!”

Stayed here last week for 3 nites and when we arrived I was quite concerned about the look of the neighborhood. However, we decided to bite the bullet and was very surprised, pleased and happy with the experience! Hotel was extremely clean and took care of all our needs. Rooms were nice size, good a/c once we figured it out, bed was pretty comfy for the two of us.
The people working there were very helpful with everything we needed and spoke great english.
Was a short walk to the Sunday market, the main street and the subway so really easy to get around.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend this wonderful experience!

Room Tip: No elevators so make sure you can carry your bags up! Our room was overlooking a little garden, very...

We are very glad to recieve your comments, we are constantly making efforts to keep the best service to our costumers.
San Telmo neighborhood its a lovely area and its true you have to take some precautions as in all the city : to move in Buenos Aires we suggest to take radio taxis, avoid showing jewelry, pay attention to your bags and wallets and avoid some streets during the night.

About the elevator: We are wating for the last permissions to start the building of it
We hope to recieve you on your next visit.

“Two stays, no bugs!”

My wife and I stayed at the Bohemia twice, once at the start of November 2011 for 4 nights and again from the 29th of November to the 3rd of December and didnt have a problem with bed bugs. Different rooms each time, so would say the issue has been dealt to effectively. Quite a few English speakers staying and chatting in the breakfast room and no mention of a problem from anyone. We had a great stay! Would stay again if back in BA.
The staff were consistantly helpful and very friendly and the breakfast was great judging by the standard of breakfasts in other Argentina hotels!

Thank you very much for your comment. We took all the precautions to resolve de unfortunate bedbugs problem, but there is nothing more important for us than hear from our costumers that the inconvenience have been resolved.

“An unexpected gem”

When we came by remise (airport taxi) through the San Telmo district at 11pm to our hotel we wondered what we had got ourselves into!
This little boutique hotel shone brightly in an otherwise dark and dubious looking street - but don't judge a book by its' cover. The area was safe and all the locals are friendly and helpful.
All the staff at the hotel went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and were always willing to help out with just about any request.
The rooms were small, but clean and the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was substantial.
We discovered we could get just about anywhere within a block or two by public transport (1.20peso per trip!!! beats going by taxi all the time)

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor but I don't think any particular location would be better than...

“Attacked by Bedbugs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed in this hotel on October 29 and 30, 2011. During our first night, at room 111 we were viciously attacked by bedbugs. My husband counted 182 bites all over my body. I had to go to the pharmacy to purchase pills and a medicated cream. My arms, specially, were in a very bad state. All duirng our trip in Argentina I had to cover my arms as these looked just terrible with all the marks and pink rash. The hotel staff apologized on the morning of October 30 and changed us to room 209. The next morning, we had more bites in our bodies. We cancelled our reservation for other nights and went to another hotel where we did not have a problem with bedbugs. The rooms at the Bohemia hotel looked clean, as well as the bathroom, but the beds had bedbugs, and they need to get rid of those mattresses, not just fumigate. The area around the hotel is a bit run down and there is construction going on. It is not a very long walk to go to the center of town. The breakfast was adequate.

Room Tip: I would not stay in this hotel until there is a report that the issue with the bedbugs has been reso...

Dear Guests,
We are sorry that you have been through this bad experience, the "bed-bugs" are insects that live in mountain areas and in our city are not common, they can appear when the travelers themselves transported in clothing or in luggage. As you indicate, we put much effort on the rooms cleaning, unfortunately we could not foresee this situation. We have taken all measures to eliminate them, with specialized disinfection and changing beds and mattresses completely for new ones. Since then haven't recieved any complain or comment again.
We appreciate your review and sincerely hope that you feel better.

Kind Regards

“Not the Best Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and was not overly impressed. It is neat and simple - like many other hotels in BA - but there is construction in the immediate neighborhood (within 1-2 blocks), so be prepared to be woken up early in the morning.

If you're the young/social type, you'll have a much better experience - in terms of affordability, room space, quiteness in your room, proximity to good food, English-speaking staff and overall hospitality at the Circus Buenos Aires Hotel & Hostel. It's just 5-6 blocks further away from the action than Bohemia but much hipper and still in San Telmo.

Room Tip: Paid a very affordable rate for a room with an in-room shower/bathroom. Happened to be a triple, an...
