*There is not an option for the time frame we stayed at the Windmill, hence my "June 2011" notation. ..... My husband and I stayed here in the spring of 2005, while visiting friends in town. We were pleased with the outside of the hotel and the pool and outdoor breakfast area. We found it small, but quaint, and it seemed kept up. The breakfast was plain, but certainly fresh, and a tasty array of hard cooked eggs, bread, jam, honey, butter, olives, cucumber, tomato, cheese, and pepper - the basic fare. Our room was less desireable. It was very small, with 2 single beds with the most itchy sheets and (thin) blankets I've ever experienced. I was incredibly uncomfortable sleeping (note to self, get one of those travel sheets/sleeping bag things). The bathroom did not have a shower curtain at all, so the floor was always wet. After 3 days of being told we'd have hot water at least at some point during the day, afternoon, or evening (we understand that hot water is not always available in the AM), we realized that the "management" was just placating us with empty promises. I also noticed that when our friends, who speak fluent Turkish, tried to intervene on our behalf, that they were mocked as they walked away. That was the last straw with us. We are very patient and gracious and even remotely warm water would have been ok. But we had ice cold, freezing water 24/hrs a day - too much for me to bear. So we left on the 3rd day of our 9 day stay, and our friends got us a good rate at the Mer Can down the street. I hope things have changed for the better since 2005, but one never knows. We will not be returning to the Windmill.
