“Situated in Unrivalled Location”

Apartments a little tired but spotlessly clean and spacious. Set in beautiful gardens with profilic colouful shrubs and flowers. Amenities on site are excellent with swimming pools and private beaches which are also spotlessly clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Reception staff not very informative and do not understand much English.
It took us three days to find Yalikavak town and harbour which is well worth visiting in the evenings with many excellent restaurents (I recommend Cumbali Restaurent).
The bus runs from the main gate of the resort every 20 mins, last bus back 10pm.
Very pretty area around Yalikavak with view points from cliff tops sign posted from Yalikavak. MUST DO - Turkish Bath and massage at Club Flipper Hotel

This was my first Turkish holiday so I was slightly apprehensive especially after having read some of the reviews here, AFTER I'd booked it! I believe some of these opinions are unfounded so i shall attempt to give it a fair assessment....
I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I'm quite a discerning traveller having been all over the Med. I travelled with my 10 year old son and some friends. The hotel is very much out of the way so I was delighted that it was of such a high standard with many amenities. The beach views were beautiful although it was not the best beach. However, many water-sports could be pursued if desired hence the name club flipper. Entertainment was very good and I participated in the pilates (morning session) and the aerobics(evening session.) On one occasion, I joined the aerobics class and finished up gasping for breath only to be told when the session finished that the other participating ladies were members of a professional basket ball team! Not for wimps. Belly dancing lessons were held at approximately 4pm. The nightly entertainment was held in an amphitheatre and has got to go down as some of the BEST entertainment I've ever witnessed abroad. Each night, we'd finish with the hotel's club flipper song/dance which had great appeal for children and adults alike. Watch out for the evening mosquitos in the arena. Alcohol was very expensive at the evening outside hotel bar so not much good to anyone fancying a boozy break.
The hotel room was pleasant but a bit cramped. It was kept very clean as was the rest of the hotel. I wasn't keen on the bath/shower facilities but I loved my shower radio! The general amenities were excellent and when my son got a splinter, he was treated almost immediately by on site staff. The swimming pools were beautiful with any number to choose from. The hairdresser at the hotel gave my son a great, trendy hair-cut and insisted that he blow-dried it for free before dinner each night as my efforts wer in vain. The on-site photographer took great pictures and was very reasonable.
The food was fantastic and the waiters were most polite and attentive. As my friend said jokingly, I had my own little entourage of waiters with maybe 5 trailing me with a selection of dishes. The desserts were delicious and of very high quality. The presentation of food was most impressive. What more could you ask for?
Keep up the good work club flipper!

“Good Resort (Time Share)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2008

We booked through our Timeshare organisation.

The resort is in a nice setting close to the sea and most rooms have a sea view as there are two beaches, the resort is on a peninsula. Some of the pathways around the resort are quite steep and not easily negotiable for a wheelchair (although we did see a wheelchair user). The outside areas are tidy and the gardens are lovely. There are lots of walkways and loads of sunbeds with covers and umbrellas giving shade.

Staff go out of their way to be friendly to guests and are helpful and courteous. Rooms were clean, although occasionally they were not cleaned every day. Towels were changed, sometimes daily and sometimes after 4 or 5 days. You do need to take beach towels as the resort does not provide them. Hairdryers are supplied in the rooms and the timeshare appartments are well equipped. There is entertainment for adults and children. Watersports are available.

The three outdoor pools (one of which has three levels) vary in temperature and one is seawater. The indoor pool was quite warm and there is a high level of humidity.

The food - the salads and desserts are to die for. The main courses were a little overcooked and a little lacking in meet and fish (Buffet style). The A La Carte Restaurant was not open as it was being refurbished. We ordered A La Carte in the main restaurant. The service was excellent one night but completely collapsed the following night and at least four parties complained. The kitchen seemed disorganised when supplying the A La Carte food. However, when it arrived it was excellent (steak cuts are not always as described).

We enjoyed our stay, it is a good resort for families.

“Fantastic staff, great holiday”

My wife and I have just returned from 2 weeks (the 1st 2 weeks of May) at Hotel Club Flipper. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. There were certain key members of staff (reception and in the animation team) that went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and made us feel special and welcome. Most of the staff we had regular contact with had good enough English. The hotel was quiet when we went as it was right at the start of the season. It was due to start to get busy from mid May onwards. Club Flipper is also a timeshare (RCI) resort. It is popular with the Turkish, Dutch and English and can have upto 1700 people on the priave peninsula where club flipper is based in high season. The entertainment team (animation team) were fun and friendly and did a good job at involving us in things that would not otherwise be our scene but we had a good laugh. They have a kids club and the animation team seemed to do a great job at looking after what few children were at the resort when we were there.
We stayed on a half board basis and the food included was fair. The food available at lunch time from the VIP bar and the A la Carte menu was significantly better but this cost more. In the season there would have been another restaurant open on the site together with more of the other facilities. The rooms were good and kept very clean. We thought the hotel was excellent value for money. The local buses come to the gate and it is easy to get to Yalikavak and Bodrum (about 1 hr) by bus. I highly recommed taking the bus to Gumusluck, a wonderful fishing village with wonderful fish restaurants.
This was our first visit to Turkey and enjoyed it. I am glad to report that we did not have any stomach upsets which is contrary to what nearly everyone we spoke to prior to our trip said. I highly recommend this hotel.

  • Liked — Good rooms and the gym. Friendly staff
  • Disliked — food was fair
