“Club Flipper”

We too arrived late and were also charged for the late checkout, and tried to charge us for 2. When we TRIED to explain that we hadn't stayed 2 nights, they couldnt understand us as english is very little. The shop/restaurant/bar staff do not speak any, and this also makes things very hard. We had difficulty finding what things were on what days, as the staff just looked at us blankly when we tried to ask so we only found 1 market, and that was by chance. Staff were unhelpful, and sometimes rude. Food was average, we ate out every night, although you have to get taxis/buses into yalikavak as the hotel is away from everything, and if you are ready to take the trek to Bodrum (about 40 minutes away) then you can also do that by bus which is so much cheaper than taxis. We felt very isolated!! Hotel was ok, pool was cold and salt water one was dirty at the bottom, nothing like the pictures!! Beach was dirty, says that they offer on site watersports but again language was a problem, they just looked at you like you were mad - dont think we saw 1 person go on the jetski's while we were there., groups of men sat in the hut all day talking turkish. Felt quite intimidating!

“Mainly a turkish Family Resort”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2007

This hotel was described as a hotel ideal for adults on the internet. This is a very popular Turkish Family Hotel located 3km along the coast from Yalikavak. Most of the staff does not speak English; neither do the rest of the holiday makers. This made us feel very isolated. The hotel was very noisy as the pool games which went on for most of the day was extremely loud and each hotel along the coast held this so noise was blaring from each resort. There were no walks as each hotel owned its own beach (or strip of builder’s rubble - no sand as such) and the roadway was very hilly and hot and dusty to walk along. The hotel is located at the end of a bus journey which takes 10-15 minutes to get into Yalikavak. If you want to go anywhere else you have to get a bus into Bodrum and then get another bus to where you want to go. There is only one restaurant. The hotel was packed so people were waiting for a table most of the time. If you go to dinner about 9pm you will get a dirty table and cold food. If you go to dinner between 7-8.30pm you have to wait for a table and compete with hoards of kids and families pilling their table up with plates of food. Our room was lovely. (Large and right on the beach.) Ask for 900's as these were in the best location. Unfortunately our room flooded twice and the bathroom smelt really bad as the water used was brought in from a sulphur spring. Turkey has become very expensive since I was last here 4 years ago. The hotel restaurant and supermarket charged the going rate for food although the quality of food at the hotel was not very good. Best thing we had to eat all week was the water melon. Would expect more from a 4* hotel. I would not stay at this resort again.

“FAB club flipper !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2007

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Club Flipper. We stayed on a H/B basis and the food was fabulous. Lots of choice and freshly cooked. The staff were friendly, helpful and
professional.
We took two children ( 9 and 14) they both enjoyed having a choice of four out door pools, and the two beaches at club flipper.
The accomodation was fair, spotless and roomy. Only fault was that you couldn't make a cup of coffee...no kettle! However, there
was a fridge, t.v. and fab view from the balcony.
we will definately return, sooner rather than later I hope!!

  • Liked — great choice of pools ( three out door one indoor and 2 private beaches)
  • Disliked — no kettle in room
