We love Turkey & this area especially & have visited many times & even stayed twice before at this hotel when B&B they just cannot cope with AI. This hotel could be a lovely place to stay but it is ruined by bad Management & lazy, insolent, leery young staff who actually seem to be the ones on holiday. They would rather be swimming in the pool, playing pool or chatting up any woman available. They constantly asked for tips but did not want to give good service.
The rooms are basic but clean though we did have some marked & ripped bedding..not good.
The food was ok if a little repetitive & not always hot. The cups were all but a few chipped. Breakfast was between 8:30-10:00 but at 9:00 on one occasion the eggs were finished. The juice machine was also not maintained. The table cloths were not changed in the 11 nights we stayed there.
Sadly over the first weekend the Manager allowed the sister hotel to be overbooked whilst ours was pretty empty. Travellers arrived in the middle of the night & were told that the Akdeniz was overbooked & they had to stay at the Seden for 2-5 nights they were fuming & stormed to their rooms waking other residents then the next days sat by our pool stating what a dump we had booked to stay in. That made for a real good atmostphere.
The pool bar was often not manned. There was a general reluctance to serve drinks despite the AI tag. All bar stools & tables previously donning the pool area since AI have been removed, we were told the Manager wanted us to go out of the hotel as much as possible & we would stay in & drink if the chairs & tables were there. The drink choice was limited but ok. After 23:00 hrs you had to pay for drinks but no tarriff was dsplayed & the young barmen did their best to intimidate you bringing in their friends to hang around the bar as they wanted to go clubbing everynight. One evening at 22:45 there was no barman at 23:05 he reappeared requesting payment for any further drinks. Another night as they wanted to go out they said bar now closed at 23:00. They were also laughing & talking behind our backs very obviously with Turkish guests, well they couldn't speak much English in the first place especially when you asked them for something that they could not be bothered to do. When upset one barman Barish sulked ,slammed drinks, plates & furniture & actually made us consider leaving the hotel for our last few days as the atmostphere became unbearable. He even wrote a note asking another guest to fight him. Sadly the Manager did not seem much older & couldn't Manage himself. As we were leaving they all managed to come out & hug us to again request tips..Sorry I dont understand was our reply.
We love Turkey & hate to think that a first time traveller would think this is typical & not return. We have met some lovely people during our stay & will definitely be back but not the The Seden as we do not think this will be altered any time soon for the better.

“Good and Bad”

Agree a lot with ray424 eg rooms and cleanliness and chicken a lot on menu thought i would come home clucking or imitating the cockle doodle doo rooster lol!
The bar staff - young men seemingly not really caring unless you were female under about 25!
Music around the pool, some ok however why do the staff not realise the same cd been on repeatedly and very loud as speaker on the bar placed outwards towards people trying to chill - its not rocket science! Also, i believe most of us over 40 so not really interested in (supposed) songs with the f word and b word eg female dog.
To the management and reception (very good) i believe evening of 4th October, a lot of elderly people came to stay for 1 night, more staff were brought in for evening meal one particular waiter dressed in black trousers and white short sleeved shirt would put others to shame, he knew his job respect to him.
The day beer ran out was our last day we wanted to relax as flight after midnight and we had paid £20 to keep the room but as music so mind numbingly loud we went to for a walk.
The gardener was a very pleasant man always smiling and polite despite working very hard!
Overall a good hotel, value for money but could be improved if management had a walk round now and again.

“Otel Seden good or bad”

The hotel is situated close to the main town of Hisaranou about 10 minutes walk away.Rooms were spotlessly clean and were cleaned to a high standard every day.The food was varied mostly chicken although not always hot due to the fact it was cooked in the sister hotel in olu deniz and delivered by van to our hotel.the The food was not too bad to be fair. The reception staff were helpful and polite at all times. However i believe that there are no stools around the bar because the bar staff would have ended up wearing them. One bartender made Basil Fawlty seem positively charming at one point slamming drinks down on the bar so hard that half the contents ended up over myself and the bartop. The only time he came to life was when he was fawning over two young girls staying at the hotel making it even harder to get a drink.Thursday saw the bar run out of beer with no manager to be seen the gardener took it upon himself to buy some crates in(good lad). All in all a poor hotel with some great guests.Degsy Rose Alison, Bob Hisaranou (change the shirt mate)and all the others too numerous to mention.

Room Tip: at back not to close to pool front

“nice place...worth a visit !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

me and my mate john, spent a week here from sep 11th to sep 18th . first of all a really nice place in a good location. it is only a 5 minute walk to the main area of hisaronu, or if you do, what we did on the first night , it may take you 20 minutes . the hotel.... nice rooms, basic but couldnt complain really, even had a good shower . at the pool, nice big pool , always quiet most of the time . john the barman and rest of the boys took care of the bar, always had loud banging music to play, then theyd stop for a while, but not long till that same cd came on ... we went home singing those songs .As one person said on their review, cuda done with some chairs round the poolside bar... the meals .. think they catered more for the turkish people, and there was quite a few school trips with teenagers here before they all went back to school , and they were all quiet and polite really. the food was worth a try , some people ate their most nights ..but we tended to head out into the town.at least there was free drinks till 11pm
just out on the main road ,across the road, you could get a dolmus down the hill into olu deniz, or do what we did one afternoon and went for the 2 mile walk in the heat...got the dolmus back !! Anyway , i will return here one day , with my wife and my wee boy , who wuda loved the pool.. if you pick here, im sure you wont be disapointed ...its worth a visit ! benny

Room Tip: try the annexe building , we were on the top floor room 231..as we cuda got one in a worse location

“Great time good hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

we stayed for a week September 4th. We have been to the area many times but not used this hotel before. Glad we did, room was basic but clean and really all that is needed. Food very good and the staff lovely. It was a quiet hotel due to the fact it is a small hotel, which suited us just fine. We will be back and thanks to all for helping us have a great time.
