The hotel itself is good, although there are minor annoyances like not having a rubbish bin or tv remote in the room; and you have to put your key in a basket on reception when you want your room cleaned. Oh, and if there's a thunderstorm and heavy rain you may get flooded if you're in one of the downstairs rooms by the pool!
Our biggest problem was paying bar bills etc..
The first time I paid I was overcharged by 10TL and didn't get a receipt, thinking I had just added up my tickets wrong as I had made it 97, not the 107 I paid. (10TL is the price of 2 large beers.) This was after first being told I owed over 400TL, then it was "Oh wrong room number"; even though the room number is automatically found by the computer when they take your card and scan it.! Then I found that I had been right but couldn't prove it. The next time I made sure someone else was on reception and got a receipt; this was ok. I mentioned the overcharge but nothing happened.
Then we noticed that the cost of AC and safe for 2 weeks was on our bar bill as 270TL. According to the signs on the wall the total cost in Sterling was £90, going by the exchange rate offered in the hotel 270TL was £108! Even at the best rate we were getting in town 270TL was £98.
We asked if we could pay in Sterling and fortunately we could, so this is the thing to do; although why it should be cheaper that way goodness only knows!
After paying that, the next time I noticed that we had a 55TL charge on the bill from 6 days before we even arrived! This was cancelled, but if I hadn't noticed it.........
SO, be VERY careful when settling your bills; keep your receipts, add them up before going to pay, always get a receipt and check everything on the printout! Pay every few days, then you can keep better track.
Room Tip: Try to avoid the slightly below ground level rooms around the pool.
